Ambition for Breakfast

by Breanna & Karen

By creators for creators, Ambition for Breakfast is the perfect start to any day. As we like to say, it is “food for thought and inspiration for your soul.” For a well-balanced morning, eat breakfast to fuel your body and listen to this podcast to fuel your brain. Join the conversation and be a #breadwinner, all-around boss and your most authentic self.

Hosted by Editour Media’s founder Breanna Armstrong and director of marketing Karen Wilhelmsen, these episodes will provide you with knowledge to help you in your everyday life in countless ways, including the inspiration to get up and make your dream job a reality, business tips, advice from social media influencers, CEOs, boss babes doing the most and guests from all walks of life.

This is not your average “business-building” podcast. “The main takeaway I would love to provide to our Ambition for Breakfast breadwinners is empowerment and inspiration that they can do anything they set their minds to,” Breanna says.

As a millennial creative in the digital age, it is easy to get burnt out or stuck in a job that you do not feel fulfilled in. Breanna and Karen have been there—which is why they ditched their 90-minute commutes and started Editour Media in March 2019, combining their writing expertise, eye for design and connections from the publishing world.

Breanna is an award-winning journalist based in Orange County, CA. She has worked on hundreds of national and international publications with the goal to give talent the recognition they deserve. Armstrong’s dream came true when she landed an editorial position at Ultimate MMA magazine. She was named MMA Journalist of the Year in 2014. From Ultimate MMA, Armstrong was the editor for many firearms, food, outdoors, decor, entertainment and sports publications. In 2014, she launched two beauty publications New Hair Trends and Everyday Hair Extensions magazines. She was one of the first editors to give online talent print exposure. Armstrong found her niche in beauty, as this subject came naturally to her. In 2015, she joined Creative Age Publications as the managing editor for Beauty Store Business magazine. She brought a fresh approach to the 20+ year-old publication as she brought in the biggest names in beauty! Having a niche for working with online talent and social media, Armstrong launched her digital editing agency Editour Media in 2019 and now manages some of the largest influencer talent in beauty.

Karen is a highly experienced media and communications professional based in Los Angeles. An award-winning journalist and writer, she graduated from the University of California, Irvine, followed by an eight-year stint as an editor at Engaged Media, where she launched dozens of nationally distributed magazines, including best-sellers Flea Market Décor, Rustic Country and her self-titled Karen Jeanette’s Upcycled Style. She then worked at Creative Age Publications as the managing editor for Beauty Store Business magazine, which was her first introduction to the beauty industry. Today, she conceptualizes and produces specialized content for beauty professionals for social media platforms and websites at Editour Media. Karen is well-versed in proofreading, feature writing, digital publishing, blogging, video editing and more.

Guests will range from powerhouse titans like Manal Shaikh (who has almost 12 million followers on @wakeupandmakeup) to amazing lip artists like Jazmina Daniel (you know her as the lip art queen), nail and makeup expert extraordinaire Emily Susanah, hairstylist and Masters of Balayage founder Ryan Weeden, beauty industry vet and the self-proclaimed “Ryan Seacrest of the beauty industry” Adamme Sosa and rising creator, educator and model Tavaris Jefferson, who has seen exponential growth on social media through his compelling content.
