This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Jesus Calms the Storm. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Mark 4:35-41, Luke 8:22-25, and Matthew 8:23-27. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Jesus who is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.

While Jesus was on earth, He healed many people from their sickness. He did many miracles like walking on water and even raised people from the dead.

One day after preaching to a crowd of people, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. Other boats followed him too and as they sailed across, Jesus fell asleep.

But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water and they were in real danger.

The disciples went and woke Jesus up, shouting, “Save us! We are going to drown! Don’t you care if we drown?”

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then He got up and rebuked the wind and waves saying, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?”

The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”

Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem with his disciples and they came to a village where a woman named Martha welcomed them into her home. While Jesus was there, Martha’s sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to him while he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing.

She came to Jesus and said, “Doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”

But Jesus said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Paul who told people about Jesus in lots of different places. One day Paul was walking with his friend Silas. They were being followed by a girl who was controlled by an evil spirt. Her owners used her to make money. After days and days of this happening, Paul got so annoyed that he turned around and told the evil spirit to leave her. So the girl was freed, but her owners got mad at Paul and Silas because they wouldn’t make any money off her anymore and they had them thrown in jail.

The jailer locked them up. Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing to God and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was an earthquake and the chains of all the prisoners fell off. But Paul and Silas didn’t leave even though they could have. Several people decided to follow Jesus that night including the jailer and his whole family. And the next morning, they were released from jail and the city officials even apologized to them. Paul and Silas encouraged the Christians in the town and then continued on their mission to tell people about Jesus.

Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Philip who was one of Jesus’ disciples. Philip preached the good news of Jesus in many places. One day an angel of the Lord spoke to him and said, “Go south down the desert road.” So Philip started out and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia. The man had gone to Jerusalem to worship and he was now returning to Ethiopia. He was in his carriage reading the book of Isaiah out loud.

The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”

Philip ran over and heard the man reading and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

The man replied, “How can I, unless someone teaches me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.

The Ethiopian asked Philip, “Tell me, was Isaiah talking about himself or someone else?” So beginning with this Scripture in Isaiah, Philip told the Ethiopian the Good News about Jesus.

As they rode along, they came to some water and the Ethiopian said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” He ordered the carriage to stop and they went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away and took him to another town. The Ethiopian never saw Philip again but went on his way rejoicing.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Jesus healing a paralyzed man!. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Luke 5:17-26. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

The Miracle of Mercy Jesus Heals
This is Jesus! Who is the Son of God and the Savior of the world Jesus did many amazing things He taught everyone about God's love and healed people from their sickness,
He and even calmed storms. The news of Jesus had spread all around and many people wanted to come and see what He was doing. No matter where Jesus went, great crowds of people would follow Him. Jesus went to His own town and news spread that He was back home.
Soon, the house where he was staying was packed. So Jesus began to preach God's word to the people. Meanwhile, some men heard that Jesus was in town. So they decided to take their paralyzed friend to him to be healed, for their friend wasn't able to walk.
But when they got to the house. They couldn't reach Jesus because of the crowd.
So they went to the roof. And dug a hole right above Jesus. Then they lowered their friend down into the crowd right in front of Jesus. Jesus saw their faith, so he said, Son, your sins are forgiven
There were some Pharisees and teachers of religious law in the room though And they were horrified that Jesus would say such a thing they said to themselves. Only God can forgive sins. Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, Why do you question this?

Is it easier to say to this man, Your sins are forgiven, or stand up, pick up your mat, and walk? Jesus went on to say that he would prove to them that he was allowed to forgive sins. And so Jesus said to the paralyzed man, Stand up. Pick up your mat and go home. So the paralyzed man stood up and picked up his mat.

The entire room was stunned as the man walked out through the crowd. All were amazed and praised God, saying, We've never seen anything like this before. And they believed that God had sent Jesus with the authority to forgive sins and the ability to help the hurting.

CREATION

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson, Creation, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
  2. What are some of the things God created? What is your favorite? Why?
Light, sky, land, seas, plants, moon, sun, stars, birds, animals, people. Give your child a few minutes to talk about their favorite parts of creation.
  3. How can I know God is real and his plans are good?
I can look around me and see all the things he made and how amazing the world is.
  4. What can you do if you aren’t sure about God’s plan or things don’t seem good?
You can talk to God by praying. You can read your Bible and look for answers. You can talk to a parent or grownup for help understanding God’s plan. Even if things don’t seem good right now, God makes all things good one day in Heaven.
  5. Spend a few minutes talking with your child about how today’s story shows us God’s creativity. Talk about how we are made in God’s image and can be creative too. Encourage creativity in your child in ways that fit their personality. Some ideas: drawing, singing, dancing, building, writing stories… the possibilities are endless!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was empty, formless, and dark. But the Spirit of God was there.

On the first day, God said, “Let there be light.” And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.”

On the second day, God said, “Let there be a space to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” God called the space “sky.”

On the third day, God said, “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” God called the dry ground “land” and the waters “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let the land sprout with every sort of plant and tree.” And God saw that it was good.

On the fourth day, God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night.” God made two great lights—the sun for the day and the moon for the night. He also made the stars. God set these lights in the sky to light the earth. And God saw that it was good.

On the fifth day God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.” And God saw that it was good.

On the sixth day, God said, “Let the earth make every sort of animal.” God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to have babies of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, to be like us.”

So God created man in his own image. He formed man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into man and man became alive. Then he saw that the man needed a helper. So God put man into a deep sleep and while he slept, God took out one of the man’s ribs. Then God made a woman from the rib and brought her to the man.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and rule over it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

Then God said, “Look! I have given you every plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the animals.”

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!

So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was done. So on the seventh day God rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and said it was holy.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of Peter Escapes from Prison. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Acts 12:1-17. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is Peter who was one of Jesus’ disciples. Peter told people about Jesus. There was a king named Herod who tried to stop anyone who tried to tell others about Jesus. He arrested Peter and took him to jail to be executed.

While Peter was in prison, the people of the church prayed for him. The night before Peter was supposed to go to trial, he was sleeping. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord stood before him. The angel woke Peter up and said, “Quick! Get up!” The chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel told him to get up and get ready to go, and to follow him.

So Peter left the cell but all the time he thought what was happening wasn’t real and that it was just a vision. They passed by the guards and when they came to the iron gate it opened for them on its own. They were walking through the street when the angel suddenly left him.

Peter finally realized that this was all really happening and that God had sent an angel to save him from what King Herod and the Jewish leaders had planned to do to him!

He went to the home of Mary where many believers were together praying. When Peter knocked at the door a servant girl came to answer. When she realized it was Peter she was so excited that she ran inside to tell people instead of letting Peter in.

The people inside thought that girl was wrong and said, “It must be Peter’s angel.” But Peter kept knocking. When the people finally opened the door, they were amazed! Peter told them what had happened and all about how God sent an angel to rescue him from prison.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of God Sends the Holy Spirit. We referenced the following Biblical passages: Acts 2. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

These are the Apostles. They followed Jesus during his time on earth. Before Jesus went to heaven, He told them to stay in Jerusalem until God sent the gift he promised. So after Jesus went to heaven the apostles stayed in Jerusalem along with the other people who believed in Jesus.

One day they were all gathered together when there was a sound from heaven like a mighty windstorm! Then what looked like flames appeared and settled on each of them and everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gave them the ability to speak in other languages and so they started speaking.

At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. When they heard the loud noise, they came running to see what it was. When they saw the believers speaking in their own languages, they were shocked and amazed!

They wondered, “How can this be? These people are from Galilee and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages about the wonderful things God has done! What can this mean?” But others in the crowds didn’t believe that it was really a miracle and thought the believers were just acting oddly.

Then Peter stepped forward and shouted to the crowd, “Listen carefully all you!” He told them that they were not acting strangely but that this was from God. He reminded them that God said this would happen long ago. Then Peter told them about how Jesus was crucified but then raised to life again just as God had said he would be. He told them that Jesus was now in heaven and that God had given the Holy Spirit to them as he had promised.

Peter’s words changed what the people thought and felt, and they asked, “Brothers, what should we do?”

Peter told them, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Peter continued to preach to the crowd for a long time and those who believed what Peter said were baptized. 3000 people were baptized and added to the church that day.

Then all the believers listened to the apostles teaching and practiced what they taught. They met together in fellowship, shared meals, and prayed together. They were greatly amazed as the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. All the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They helped those in need, worshipped together at the temple every day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy all while praising God and enjoying each other. And each day God added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

This Bible story podcast for kids tells the story of John's Letter About Love. We referenced the following Biblical passages: 1 John 3:16-20. Hey-O Kids Curriculum’s primary goal with the Stories of the Bible is to tell the stories from God’s word accurately and in a way that is engaging to children of all ages.

This is John. John was a disciple of Jesus. He heard Jesus’ teaching and saw how much Jesus loved people. John spent the rest of his life telling others about Jesus. John wrote letters to people who believed in Jesus to encourage them and teach them.

In one of his letters, he wrote about real love. He said that we know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we should do the same for others. If someone has enough money to live well and sees another in need but doesn't help them - how can God’s love really be in that person? John said, Let’s not merely say that we love each other but let’s show our love for people through our actions.
