Windgap Foundation with the support of the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation has partnered with Eastside Radio 89.7FM , to develop the ‘Making Airwaves’ project, an opportunity for people with an intellectual disability to learn radio presentation and production skills, creating their own radio show. On Tuesday 31stMarch 2015, the latest team from the Making Airwaves project, ‘Breaking Voices’ broadcast their program on Eastside Radio 89.7FM . The ‘Breaking Voices’ team covers everything from paranormal activity to the Rabbitohs to information to support the visually impaired. You’ll hear brave telling’s of personal injustices and survival, favorite songs and encounters with celebrities. Now in its 4th installment, we are proud to present another episode of Making Airwaves !

On Tuesday the 30th of September 2014, the Voices of the Tigers took over Eastside Radio 89.7 FM, and recorded a half-hour show with the help of mentors and volunteers.The group of six young people aged 18-22 discussed their favourite foods, other patrons talkingat the cinema, a dearly departed four legged friend and more insights, humour and music. The radio show is designed for adults both young and old with special needs and is produced in conjunction with Windgap, The Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation and your favourite radio station. The aim is to have fun in a supportive and respectful setting, and to give a mainstream audience the opportunity to listen to insights that people with disabilities bring to our community.We could not have been prouder of this group of amazing broadcasters!
