Lawrence William Pedrose - another mystery author. He seems to have written a lot of short stories for outdoors magazine. Perhaps it is a nom de plume?

Dick Donovan - is the pseudonym of James Edward Preston Muddock or Joyce Emerson Preston Muddock. A journalist and adventurer who wrote a detective series featuring a detective named Dick Donovan that was so successful that started publishing stories under the detectives name. He traveled all over the world, married three times and had ten children.

The first time I had absinthe I couldn't feel my feet for over an hour, and it's still my favorite adult beverage, followed closely by scotch (ya know if anyone wants to send gifts!) I think I fared better than these two.
