This week I am changing gears a little bit. I have started working on my pieces to be included in CSArt Maine's fall shares, a series of construction sites completed in watercolors. I spend a bit of time talking about why the subject matter matches the medium and give a big shout out to the founders of CSArt Maine, who just got hitched yesterday!

In which I discuss the painting of an Apple Caddis and its rich deep colors.

This week I worked on a Fool's Caddis. I love the Fool's Caddis because my images are usually the first to pop up in google searches, which very much amuses me.

This week I talk about returning to damselflies, the benefits of looking at a subject multiple times, and my escape to Acadia National Park this week.

In which I describe painting a Black Dancer, a Caddisfly that I have been working with for roughly a week. I talk about repetition becoming knowledge and the differences in what I was aiming for at the beginning of my 365 project vs what I am after now.

In my fifth episode I discuss the painting of the Dun Variant, some Eastern philosophy that I've been reading, and speak about expressing myself versus spelling out my issues.

This week I discuss the painting of a Red Quill Mayfly.

This week I delve into the creation of the Quill Gordon. Talking sketchbook etiquette, comfort, and giving voice to the painters inner monologue.

In episode two I speak about painting the Blue Winged Olive and how to work the whole painting. I discuss muddy colors and the joys of fire and delivery trucks in your neighborhood.
