Acquired Tastings

In this second installment of What the Deal with the E, John and Josh discuss the difference between bourbon and scotch. Josh brings the Bullet Kentucky straight bourbon and with some bacon wrapped dates, chocolate covered cranberries and maple syrup. John shares the Lismore non aged designated single malt scotch whisky with bacon, Irish whiskey fudge, deviled eggs and Parmesan crisps.

After his recent trip west John brought back some beer from Montana. Josh pairs the Lewis and Clark huckleberry hefeweizen with some sausages and herb crusted cheeses. John sips on Moose Drool from Big Sky Brewing while snacking on Kansas city style ribs, filet mignon, and cheese pizza. The tasting is fantastic this week!

John's missing out this week while he is out traveling! Josh's friend Maggie Snider stops by and they chat about how they both got into wine. They discuss the their journeys into wine while having the pairings that opened their eyes. Maggie brings the Roumieu-Lacoste sauternes and pairs it with a duck and pork pate, a spicy snack mix, and lemon bars. Josh brings the Nipozzano Chianti Riserva 2013 and pairs it with and Italian board. The board has parmigiano reggiano, prosciutto di parma, strawberries, aged balsamic from Modena, and gnocchi in a tomato sauce. Its a great episode!
