On-the-Go Reading: Thoughts on 'A Demon's Gift' by L.S. O'Dea
3m · PublishedOn this episode of Son of a Librarian, I dive into the captivating novella "A Demon's Gift" by L.S. O'Day. Despite its short length, the book is packed with an engaging story that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The worldbuilding aspect is well-balanced, providing enough information to understand the setting without overwhelming the plot. Although some parts of the plot may be predictable, it doesn't diminish the impact of the revealing moments.
However, it should be noted that the story tackles some heavy themes. Join me as I explore the powerful and thought-provoking journey of Iatee and the quest for freedom in "A Demon's Gift."

"I Was Just A Radioman" ARM H.P. Lawrence The Memoirs of a WW2, Pearl Harbor Survivor by Pamela Ackerson
Obviously this book is set during World War 2 and tells of one mans experience of being at Pearl Harbor on that fateful day, as well as the rest of his time during the war.
I found it to be a mostly enjoyable read, as a historical memoir.

1m · PublishedI thought that I would occasionally offer some poetry that I find. Today I read "The Cats Have Come To Tea" by Kate Greenaway. I found the poem on public-domain-poetry.com
I thought that it was a cute little poem, and since I like cats it was an interesting visual as I read it.

Review - "The Cat of Christmas Past" - Kathi Daley
7m · PublishedThe Cat of Christmas Past by Kathi Daley, published in November of 2015, is a heartwarming Christmas story of family, friends and the miracles of both (oh and cats as well). This is the 6th book in the Whales and Tails series, but stands on its own merit. Ms. Daley also has two other books that deal with cats at Christmas time.
