In this episode, we speak with song writer, artist and producer Chris McCrory. We discuss at length his production work, approach and philosophy when creating with bands and artists in the studio, and we hear about his collaborative projects with artists such as Annie Booth. Chris shares his industry experience from both sides of the glass, from a producer's perspective and also whilst fronting the hugely respected Catholic Action, who's sophomore album Celebrated By Strangers from 2020 drew critical acclaim. Analogue equipment, working through a pandemic and where to look when in a studio control room are just some of the many topics covered in this deep dive conversation!

Sound engineer, lecturer, youth worker and project lead at That’s Sound, Carolann Burns talks to Carla Feuerstein, Diane Jardine and Susan Bear about their work in sound and their thoughts on working towards gender parity. Carla works with top folk bands HEISK and The Paul McKenna band. She studied as only one of four women on her sound course at Stow college. Diane is the owner of Sonido and Transmission Room Studios. Most of her career has been in TV dubbing, which she left in 2014 to start out on her own and now also lectures at Glasgow Clyde College. Susan is a multi-instrumentalist, sound designer and composer working across music, theatre, games and film. She has toured extensively with artists such as The Pastels, Malcolm Middleton and Pictish Trail, also recently releasing solo material as Good Dog to critical acclaim.

Unlocking our Sound Heritage (UOSH) is a four nation project established to help save and preserve each country's audio legacy with the aim of making it available to the public. RTZ got to meet the Scottish Hub Team to find out what the project entails whilst also hearing about some of the management, copyright and technical challenges encountered. The episode includes in depth interviews with team members, detailing examples of their work which makes for a fascinating and insightful listen.

Based in Scotland, the podcast will set out to discover the people who make their living or have their passion in what we hear. Due to the current restrictions of the day, this is a home recorded production unintentionally keeping with the theme of the episode!
