Episode 6 – Diversity on Stage with Weston Vrooman

In Episode 6, recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma Peggy V. Helmerich School of Drama, Weston Vrooman and I discuss how new voices can support diversity in casting and why he knows Swahili. Episode 4 – Producing A New Play with Emile Adams

In Episode 4, I go on a road trip with my daughter, playwright Emile Adams. Emile and I discuss Emile's first stab at independently producing her work with a play she wrote called Fever Dream. We veer to lots of subjects but every detour takes us back to the work of producing an original full-length play.

Episode 3 – Student Performers with Daniel Bowers

In Episode 3 High School sophomore theatre student, Daniel Bowers, and I discuss creating a role in an original play in an educational setting and how to get over your fear of auditioning. Daniel’s experience in the theatre program led to many friendships with people he might never have gotten to know. He shares some tricks to getting over audition anxiety and how to ‘own’ a role.

Episode 2 – Team Building with Will Inman & Darian Silvers

In Episode 2 I discuss team building in theatre with a couple of twenty-somethings. Playwright Will Inman and Director Darian Silvers are part of a rising generation of artists looking to make their mark on the stage. Will as a playwright and actor, and Darian as a director-choreographer. Both young men see theatre evolving into an art driven by its unique interaction with a live audience.
