It debuted in May 2022. The text heard in Carnal Spill was written by Ahren and her collaborator Vanessa DeWolf. The work’s original music was by composer Anne Hege.

23m · PublishedFascinated by the patterns and politics of crowds, Sarah Friedland choreographed and directed CROWDS, a three-channel video installation. Friedland presented CROWDS as an in-person experience in 2019 at La MaMa Galleria as part of Performa19 and the Ann Arbor Film Festival. Then in 2021, she presented it digitally at the University of Rochester and American Dance Festival.
