12m · PublishedDay 5 of my backpacking journey. Again, Garth brooks was right when he said "everything that is a blessing is a curse" and vise versa. I talk about how my blessing of always wanting to do better is also the curse that makes me too hard. I use anecdotes from backpacking, Eric Thomas, Ray Lewis, and Mr. Schindler to illustrate this obstacle as well as how to overcome it. Today was the day I picked up micro plastics or "nurdles" at the Mississippi River until the sun went down. Also a special shoutout to the homies that check in on me and give me positive reinforcement!

There's so much to be grateful for right now I know I forgot several things. My friends and family deserve a special shoutout. Mom my and Dad supported me before I left for this journey and my friends went way above what I thought. Special shoutout to Austin, Brandon, Kyle, Mike, Anthony, Austin's mom, Nelson, and Brooke, for giving me some support before I left. I'm sure there more but I gotta slump.
