The final episode of Season 1 is here. Who would'a thought? This special episode to finish of the season is a live recording taken from the incredible open mic night Off The Chest back in February. Work Spoken Live brings you performances from Laura Rae, Gboyega Odubanjo (a.k.a Yega) and Rakaya Fetuga, alongside a live recording where we get a chance to sit down and have a little natter about all things spoken word. Poet Curious is here for the nineteenth episode of Word Spoken. A man's who's fingers are seldom found outside of the numerous pies in which he tends to lodge his digits. Hip hop, spoken word, teaching, hosting, photography, painting, workshops, events, DJing, and host of the Soho Radio show 'Reaching Out' represents a mere glance at the pie-shaped talents this man seems to excel at with ease. After 15 years in the music industry as an MC, Mr Milise knows exactly how to command a microphone and write hard hitting lyrics. His musical know-how and high end production seamlessly intertwines itself with his poignant lyricism. The first piece he put out as a spoken word artist less than 2 years ago was entitled Knife Sentence. The video went viral - attracting the attention of BBC News and Britain's Got Talent. The piece deals with the issues surrounding serious youth violence in the UK and lead him to begin a career as a professional youth mentor as he set up the charity Knife Crime Victim Support. Billie PN's poetry combines eye-winking humour, engaging storytelling, punchy performance and biting social critique. As you can see from the title, episode 13 of the show is as unapologetically zesty as Jamie's beautifully protruding chest hair. Originally from the Isle Of Wight his performances are embellished with dreary British grit and dry-as-a-bone humour with each piece encapsulating the internal monologue of a park bench dwelling wordsmith. It's the 12th episode of Word Spoken and we have Woodzy on the show. This 25 year old Flo Poet is a spoken word artist / rapper who's early career saw him feature on Tim Westwood TV and Channel AKA. After getting into spoken word a video of him performing a 90's and early 00's nostalgia piece went viral - generating just under 1,000,000 views on Facebook. From countless features to increasingly high profile commissions, this guy is truly one to watch. His performances are memorable, his delivery second to none and his word play, well... I'll let you guys see for yourself (Hint: it's sick). His EP entitled 'Happy Place' is OUT NOW on all digital platforms so give it it a listen.
