Increasingly we also need to adapt to multiple roles including taking on carer responsibilities. Being a carer, whether at home or in a professional workplace setting, can be both rewarding and very challenging. The demands of meeting carer responsibilities, coupled with life’s everyday challenges, can be taxing on our physical and emotional energy levels and we can often find ourselves putting our own wellbeing last on the list of priorities. This podcast helps build upon our understanding of the importance of self-care in a balanced way while applying realistic approaches to managing listeners’ own expectations. It helps listeners to set and build upon some healthy goals for their own wellbeing. It provides a practical toolkit for building an individual action plan that will help optimise participants’ own health behaviours and happiness, while enabling them to feel more confident about their capacity to juggle the commitments that come with being a carer.
