Zainab Alema plays rugby for Barnes RFC and by profession, she is a neo-natal nurse.  Zainab was awarded grassroots sportswoman of the year by the Sunday Times and Vitality in 2020 for encouraging black and Muslim women to play rugby. She is a founder of Studs in Mud, a project supporting women’s rugby at the grassroots level, and a founder for Muslimah Rugby, an initiative empowering Muslim women to play rugby.

Dr Jabbar started her dental career soon after graduating from Kings College London in 2009 and since, she has not only worked in a range of multidisciplinary dental practices, but also at Kings College Hospital Dental Institute where she enhanced her diagnostic and technical skills in Restorative dentistry, working alongside some of the top dental consultants in the country. It is from here that her passion for restorative and cosmetic dentistry sprung.

Dr Jabbar took over Peace Dental Centre in October 2012 and since then; it has undergone a huge transformation in its aesthetics, ethos and vision. Thuha is a big believer and promoter of preventative dentistry and her personal aim for all patients at Peace Dental Centre is for them to be completely free from all preventable dental conditions.

Long Bio

Born in Leeds to a white father and a black mother from apartheid South Africa, then raised in Zimbabwe and converted to Islam while studying at university in the UK, and having lived for ten years in Egypt, Na'ima B. Robert has some interesting stories to tell.

A mother of five children, she crafted a career as an author, specialising in diverse and multicultural children's books, as well as novels for young people and a groundbreaking memoir.

She founded SISTERS, the magazine for fabulous Muslim women in 2007 and went on to publish for ten years, touching the lives of thousands of readers and launching the careers of dozens of writers.

In a tragic turn of events, she lost her first husband of 15 years and became, all at once, a widow and the CEO of a company of 300 staff.

She credits this experience with the expansion and growth she has since experienced as a woman, as a mother, as an entrepreneur and public figure.

Having traveled the world addressing a variety of audiences and indulging her love for new experiences, Na'ima continues to intrigue and inspire.

Na'ima's signature style has evolved over the years: she has a unique ability to command attention from the stage and connect with women and men of all ages and from different backgrounds, with her blend of honesty, vulnerability, strength and humour.

Her keynote presentations typically leave the audience shaken, stirred and ready to make big changes in their lives and finally show up as the heroes of their life stories.
