G. Bruce Boyer, The Godfather of Menswear (Rerun)

57m · Blamo! · 22 Jan 09:00

If you're still in that "New year, I'm going to educate myself" moment. I can't think of any other episode as crucial as this one.

Mr. G. Bruce Boyer.

Bruce is an authority on classic menswear and men's fashion; he was an editor at Town & Country and Esquire and has written about clothing and menswear for over 40 years. From Fred Astaire, Gary Cooper, Duke of Windsor, Bruce is the source.

One other thing I want to mention, as you listen to this, Bruce is just the most genuine real deal guy. He's no bullshit. Yeah, he knows about cloth weight and all that stuff, but he also understands that at the end of the day, what matters is how you feel. I genuinely love this guy and am privileged to call him a friend.

We recorded this a few years ago, but I relistened to it and was like, dang. It's all bangers.

David Cho on The Internet and Postcard

My guest this week is David Cho.

David is almost always one of the people behind what you love, from podcasts, journalism, and media he’s been an intricate part of THE INTERNET. It's kind of wild to think about, tbh.

David and I chat about media diets, getting introspective, why the internet is hungry for earnestness, his previous career at Grantland and The Awl, and his new project, Postcard.

PATREON PREVIEW - Die, Workwear! - What the Zuck!?

Patreon Preview from Blamo!

WARNING –This may be the first and only menswear podcast episode on how to dress more like Mark Zuckerberg.

In what feels like one of the biggest PR turns in the last year, Zuck’s style improvement has generated considerable online chatter and even a recent New York Times profile.

Peter and Derek discuss how Zuck’s style has improved and—if you can believe it—what style lessons people can take away.

Has Mark Zuckerberg undergone a makeover?
