This podcast will be monthly discussion on subjects about difficult, but important, topics and raise awareness of social injustices and current issues. Topics include the education system, activism, feminism, the NHS, modern slavery, politics, social media, mental health, technology, money and celebrity culture are just a handful of subjects I will be discussing with many guests in each episode. My aim for this podcast is to empower others to make meaningful decisions for ourselves and for others. We are all growing, changing and learning and I think that the more we know, the more power we have to make better decisions. 01: University, Moving Away From Home & Changing Career Paths Pt. 1

25m · Published 19 Mar 19:30
This episode is a 3 part short series about University and the education system. In 2018 I graduated with a BA (Hons) and after finally coming out of education at 22 years old I reflected on my time spend at uni and thought about whether it was really worth it. I started to question the education system as a whole and I was eager to talk to other graduates to hear whether they had the same thoughts as me. I believe that the education system is extremely flawed and there are many fundamental issues that need to be discussed and resolved. I think everyone has different experiences of university and after chatting with many graduates and none graduates I’ve learned a great deal from it, and I hope you do too. I wanted to unpick many issues of the education system such as the transition from college to university, balancing a healthy lifestyle whilst at university, how university prepares you for the real world of work and so much more and how these problems can be improved on. In this episode I chat with Fashion Stylist and Illustrator Beth Parkinson and Associate Data Scientist Demi Townson about their university experience and how it has got them to where they are today. We chat about moving away from home, living in London, independence, finding a balanced lifestyle whilst at university, money, whether their expectations of university were met and so much more.
