The Art Of Photo Printing | Interview with Joe’s Printing #88

1h 26m · Published 06 Jan 16:37
Meet Joe the owner of Joe's Printing. With a passion for photography and a keen eye for detail, Joe embarked on a journey that began over a decade ago, aiming to bridge the gap he observed in the printing landscape of his hometown, Freo (Walyalup). Joe's Printing was born from a rich background of experience gained while working in darkrooms and digital labs in Melbourne (Naarm). He realized that, like many artists, he longed for a printing experience that went beyond the ordinary - one where he could sit down with a printer, discuss the nuances of paper, and meticulously fine-tune every aspect of the printing process until the results were nothing short of perfection. This quest for perfection led Joe to set up his first printing lab, right in the comfort of his bedroom. Little did he know that those early prints from his bedroom studio would eventually find their way into major art collections and prestigious galleries. His dedication to the craft and artistic vision began to gain recognition. As Joe's Printing gained momentum, so did the relationships he built with his clients. With each interaction, he honed his expertise and continued to deliver exceptional prints. It wasn't long before Joe's bedroom studio evolved into his first official studio space in Jolimont, where he operated for seven years. Now, Joe finds himself back in his beloved Freo, where his journey began. He has worked tirelessly to establish a printing lab that offers hassle-free service without compromising on the high-quality standards he upholds. As an artist himself, Joe understands the desire for a final product that's nothing short of perfect. In this episode we welcome you to the world of Joe's Printing. This will be an education session about printing for my self but also for you, we’ll cover Joe’s story, how he he got into printing, the do’s and printing, the printing process, gear, where joes work has been exhibited, the artists he’s worked with and more. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/digitalcreators/message
