Episode 7: What the Tweet?!

28m · Published 15 Jul 18:21

Twitter is one of the longest-lasting and prolific social media platforms to date! Twitter has been the favorite media outlet of past presidents and helped to spark a revolution in the middle east in 2010. Aside from the political impact Twitter has had, it is also a reliable tool for sharing professional information and news regarding your industry.

In this episode I discuss the following:

1. Twitter 101 (About Twitter for the unfamiliar)

2. Why You Really Should Have a Professional Twitter Account

3. What to Tweet About?

4. How Often You Should Tweet

Episode 6: It’s ALL About Facebook

29m · Published 07 Jul 16:19

Facebook is the largest social media platform on the planet with reach which is not just a global audience but with reach into VR technology and video chat! Facebook also owns what is probably the most popular social media platform - Instagram, which boasts a gigantic following of its own.

Facebook is still very relevant in digital marketing and brand development and as the company develops more and newer tools for users disposal, Facebook will still be a place where a high percentage of the public will go to hang out and digest news and views.

In this weeks episode I discuss:

- Facebook as a platform and what makes it different

- Facebook organic promotion vs paid promotion

- Faceook LIVE

- Facebook groups for closed user engagement and recruitment.

Episode 5: No Social Media Golden Ticket

23m · Published 01 Jul 16:37

I see A LOT of clamor online about How To Grow Your Social Media Following in easy, fast, and cheap ways! Unfortunately, there is no golden ticket or magic bullet for gaining an authentic social media following and furthermore, I would add that it is not that important.

In this episode, I talk about the pitfalls of trying to attract an audience, any audience, without context. Why you shouldn't pay for followers and a couple of things that you CAN DO to improve your social media following in a smart and decisive way.

Episode 4: Naming Your Brand Part 3

23m · Published 23 Jun 21:48
It’s time to make your brand real online! URL addresses and social media handles!

Episode 3: Naming Your Brand Part 2 of 3

25m · Published 16 Jun 16:40

Sometimes, particularly in Personal Brand development - YOU are the brand - product or service you are promoting!
Particularly in fields that require intellectual acumen and accreditation: Counseling, practicing law, performing arts, clients will seek you out for your individual abilities and talents. In cases like this, it's YOUR personal qualities that should be infused in the brand name.

In EPISODE 3 I will give you a couple of points of perspective to consider:

1. USING YOUR ACTUAL LAST NAME: Sometimes if your "last name" is hard to spell or remember, it might not be a good fit for a brand.

2. THINKING ABOUT PERSONALITY: Do you have a personality that "rubs people the wrong way"? You might want the brand to be apart from yourself.

3. TRANSFERABILITY: Is your brand something that you want to multiple or franchise? You might want to consider not naming the brand after yourself if you have plans of growing the brand outside of your individual abilities.

Episode 2: Naming Your Brand Part 1 of 3

31m · Published 09 Jun 16:54

Naming things gives them power and this is true of brand development as well. The name you give your brand can have an immediate and lasting impact in the minds of your customers, consumers, and clients. A good name can establish trust and authenticity wherein a "bad" brand name can come off as false or inadequate.

In EPISODE 2 we talk about the baseline considerations you need to give to naming your brand along three vectors:

1. CULTURE - Is there a cultural aspect to your brand which could or should be reflected in the brand name

2. LOCATION - Does the origin or location of your brand (physically or metaphorically) "speak" to your audience about the importance of your brand.

3. SERVICE or APPLICATION: Is there a pseudonym or a means of introducing a technical aspect of your brand into the brand name?

Episode 1: Establish Your Brand Goals

18m · Published 02 Jun 17:02

Oftentimes, when clients think about brand development they get caught up in the "fun part" of the process: logo, website theme, social media accounts, etc. The problem is that if you only focus on the "easy stuff" and don't put enough energy into the "hard part" of your brand development process you will not see the returns on your investment of time, energy, and money!

Hi, I am Michael Mac, a brand development expert and creative genius! In this podcast episode I will talk to you about:

- Setting attainable brand goals

- Importance of setting brand goals

- Something you can do TODAY to start achieving the brand goals that you have set for yourself!
