Babbling About Voice and Opera

1h 0m · Published 03 Nov 04:00

Hello!!

This episode is a bit of a departure as we are not talking about a musical. Instead, You get to hear my voice teacher Amelia and I talk about many topics under the sun.

We range from talking about the voice itself, different styles, and the difference between Opera and Musical Theater.

I want to start by saying, although I can never understand the black experience. I will ALWAYS do everything in my power to listen and help. We have to raise our voices. With that. I wish I could have constructed an episode featuring a black artist, but with the little time that this movement has taken to grow, I still want to do what I can given the time-crunch so for every listen, I will be donating a dollar to the NYC bail out, so lets help make this donation impactful.

TODAYY TODAYYYY it all began today.

Come listen to this fabulous episode about an American classic, Madeline Kraft and I break down Act Two of West Side Story for you. So you can fully understand this classic.

West Side Story is a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet.

Babbling About Les Misérables

There is nothing miserable about this episode. Join Michael Kushner and I as we explore the epic musical Les Mis. Les Mis is based on the novel written by Victor Hugo and follows the life of Jean Valjean running from Javert, as he meets Fantine, Cosette, Eponine, Marius and the Thenardiers.

The show opened in London in 1985 and NYC in 1986 both to SMASH reviews, for ever cementing it as a Musical Standard.
