Episode 2 - Common Small Biz mistakes in Web Design, SEO, Social Media, etc.

Hey Everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Digital Marketing Dive Podcast. I’m Seth Goldstein from Goldstein Media, with me is the self-proclaimed king of the Internet, Shawn Swaim, of Shawn Swaim Consulting. We have a great episode for you today.  TOPIC: Common Small Biz mistakes in Web Design, SEO, Social Media, etc. Build a Website and people will automagically find you and start coming to your site. (Assuming that because you “exist” and think people *should* just find you because of that is ignorance.) Building on WordPress, though a great first step to getting found online, isn’t an instant cure to being found online. You still need a digital marketing plan and an optimization strategy. Building a site on SquareSpace, Wix, Weeby et al might seem like a great start and a way to avoid paying a designer, but a lot more goes into a site design and development than just the looks. It’s more than skin deep. (Saving money today at the expense of leaving money on the table for the year). Page builders offered by hosting platforms just plain suck and are impossible to optimized later. Don’t use them. It’s a cliche but you need to allocate money to marketing to do marketing. There are quick and easy things you can do, but you need to focus on your core business not the marketing. Do what you’re good at and hire for the rest. In the end it will work out. Be sure to check out Kylee Pedrosa Nutrition. She’s the best!  And if there are any lawyers out there don’t sue us. (You’ll know what we’re talking about if you listen). Well that was fun. As always please give us a review in the podcast directory of your choice. We’re all of the major directories. We also want to hear from you. Email us at [email protected]. Leave us questions, comments, critiques, rants, you name it. If you don’t want us to read the note on the show, please tell us, because we probably will! So that’s it. It’s been fun!
