Creative Problem Solving in Manufacturing

52m · Published 12 Oct 12:22

The Motorola Razr is making a comeback! Thinking about it fills us with the nostalgia of its original 2004 predecessor. A member of the original team that created the Razr joins us on the podcast this week: Rob Shaddock.

Rob takes and encourages a wildly creative approach to solving problems in manufacturing. Too often we let the scope of huge projects cloud our judgement and ingenuity. One of his main tenets is the effectiveness of breaking large problems down into smaller bite-sized pieces.

"You have to set a new goal and unlock people's imagination to get there."

Rob Shaddock is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at TE Connectivity. Rob helps set the global engineering vision for the company. He works closely with business unit and technology leaders to drive all aspects of innovation, development and delivery of advanced connectivity solutions for TE customers worldwide. Rob joined TE Connectivity from Motorola, where he was Senior Vice President of Motorola’s Consumer Products business. Before that, he was Chief Technology Officer for Motorola’s Mobile Devices business.

Making Data-Driven Decisions in Manufacturing

32m · Published 22 Jul 13:07

One of the things we hear the most out of people is that they don't have enough data to analyze complex processes in their business. This couldn't be further from the truth. ProModel's Keith Vadas argues that as your organization changes and grows, being able to simulate and predict real-world processes is critical to profits and operations. Many large organizations are now demanding that projects are modeled BEFORE implementation.

Keith Vadas is the president and CEO of ProModel. Keith is an expert in developing and marketing predictive analysis-based solutions and has been driving the delivery of innovative solutions for over 30 years to more than 1000 companies. He became part of the team in 1999 when ProModel acquired Sim-Tech, a simulation and scheduling solutions provider company Keith founded in 1989.
