Four Principles for Leading Well When You're Not in Charge

19m · Published 05 Jun 18:35

In this episode, Jeremy Couch provides insights that will help you become a better leader, even when you lack the formal authority to lead others. Adapted from the book How to Lead When You're Not in Charge by Clay Scroggins, four key principles will be discussed to help you learn to lead yourself well first. These four principles are:

1) Lead Yourself. You are in charge of you.

2) Choose Positivity. See the big picture. Trust in God. Be hopeful about the future.

3) Think Critically. Stop being critical. Be constructive. Bring solutions.

4) Reject Passivity. Find something to own and be intentional about making it better. Control what is controllable.

Great leaders know how to lead when they’re in charge because they’ve been leading long before they were ever given that authority. Lead where you are RIGHT NOW by changing your perspective. Great leaders look ahead to the future and begin to act today to become who they want to be.

Listen to this episode and learn some tips that will help you lead well when you're not in charge!
