Sina was born in Iran and immigrated to Canada when he was in High School. Not knowing a word of English but being proficient in maths and sciences, he paved a path towards engineering. Once in the famed Engineering Science program, he realize that it wasn't his true calling and there was more out there for him. He switched out of the program to pursue a business degree, followed by internships and experiences in Canada and abroad. This journey led him to Pivotal Software and to an amazing opportunity in their headquarters in San Francisco. Sina is a natural philosopher and one who was able to understand what really matters in life very early on. Join me in learning about his journey and how he got to where he is today. Maitree was born in India, moved to Kenya, and then grew up most of her life in California. At UCLA she started to explore opportunities in business and over the years became an investment banking analyst at Citigroup. But, after a couple of years in banking, she knew that her passion was in investing and helping entrepreneurs. She left Citigroup without a job only to pursue her passion of helping entrepreneurs. Through persistent hard work and staying committed to what was in her heart, she ended up at Touchdown Ventures, a leading VC in Silicon Valley. Maitree is now on a mission to help add more diversity in the VC community by creating a platform for young rising female investors and making it easier for them to share ideas and collaborate.
