Hawaii's own Zeuss recently created a community with the Discord App. "Power" is a Discord community for everyone currently in or interested in the electric power industry. The community gives a voice to everyone and offers many pages of interest for all to listen and learn. Trenton Carlock is a Texas linehand who saw a need to create an electronic version of a transformer lab. After a year of hard work, his company, Digital Apprentice LLC rolled out the Lineman's Reference - XFMR Lab App. Its a very useful tool to learn and practice transformer connections. Jamie Goddard is the founder and owner of The Rope Guru LLC. Jamie left the corporate job to start his own gig at age 48. Jamie's company services many industries including the electric utility business. Besides Jamie's expert knowledge with rope and its applications, he is a solid guy who puts his family first. Sarah Reijonen is an author and founder of the Tiny Tradesmen Book Series. Her first children's book "Light Up The World, When I Grow Up, I want To Be A Lineman " introduces our youth to the line trade and will be the first in a series highlighting the technical and vocational career paths. With Sarah's background in journalism along with her husband's line experience, she gives us a peek of her new book which will without a doubt be "Giving Kids the Power".

Terry Bellew is a retired lineman from New York. He has served in multiple capacities including working in the line crews, supervisor and manager. Terry plays a big part in Powerlineman Magazine and Powerlineman.com where he writes, edits and promotes the trade with his unique style. Bo Lindell started in the trade at age 14 and knows this business inside and out. I had the privilege of sitting down with Bo as he shared his thoughts on the past, present and future. He is a very strong advocate for safety and has a unique style of making a positive impact on others. Listen in and you will agree that Bo is as solid as they come.

John Day is a good friend, mentor and former coworker. In June of 1996, he was on a routine trouble call and fell victim to both distractions and complacency. He was a great lineman but committed a critical error in which he lost an arm. He humbly tells his story of survival hoping that others will not follow the same path.

Today I sat down with retired lineman and founder of Powerlineman Magazine and Powerlineman.com, Byron Dunn. His pioneering forward-thinking lead to the creation of how lineman across the world connect through the internet. While most of us now take this platform for granted, it was once very difficult for utility workers throughout the country to connect until this bridge was built by Byron and his 1980's personal computer. Hear Byron's story of how his vision came to reality after being inspired after simply reading a book. Byron also shares his thoughts on this industry and its tools, safety and equipment of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Byron is a legend in this trade and we are excited to see what other tricks he has up his sleeve as he enjoys retirement.
