Relationships: Preparing For Marriage Part 2 - Jim and Dee Ann Mitchell
24m · Published"The image that you have of marriage or of life... I've got news for you, it's going to be shattered... It's going to break apart. Now that doesn't mean that you can't be happy that you can't be joyful. It just means that that the ideal that you, that each of us may have of how life is going to turn out is gonna fall apart. It's going to get shattered. But the beautiful thing about any mosaic ... is you take the broken pieces and you rearrange them different. And you put it back together. So that something that was was simple before is even more beautiful after you put the broken pieces together."
I met Jim and Dee Ann Mitchell at a big summer activity in the summer of 2021 when Dee Ann told me the miraculous story of how she survived kidney failure. I since interviewed them about their marriage story, and it is gold for anyone preparing for or improving their marriage. Please enjoy part 2 of this interview.

"I'm Diane. And this is Jim Mitchell and we've been married 35 years. We're grateful for our lives together. Grateful for our union, grateful for our children. Life is not simple. It's not easy. It can be very difficult, but great blessings are in store. And we're total opposites in a lot of ways, I'm very loud and outgoing and in everybody's face. And Jim's a little more reserved. You know, totally different personalities, but it works. It works for us, We make it work."
