Living Success!

Episode 1 – Just do it!

More than a podcast, this is a conversation long overdue to me. For a few years now I’ve been wanting to start a podcast or even a YouTube channel, but time after time I keep finding myself looking for reasons why I can’t do it.

I attribute this to the fact that I like for things to be perfect, and although I know nobody is perfect, we’re all humans, and we all make mistakes, it is something that’s always on my mind. Oh... It doesn’t look good; it doesn’t sound as good as I wanted to; or I could do it later, when the time is right.

When the time is right?!

That could be the biggest trap you could be putting for yourself... When is the right time?  There’s no right time other than when you make it the right time.

I need the right equipment... another excuse I've come up with, which has led me to spend several thousands of dollars, and yet it wasn’t enough. Well, I’m sure I was convinced before I spent the money that I would start the podcast that very same day as I purchased new equipment, but guess what happened, I found out I need more equipment, or at least that’s what I told myself.

This turned into a vicious cycle that eventually led me to not want to pursue those goals I always wanted to work on such as starting a podcast.

Most recently, as I was lying down on my bed looking at the ceiling, a memory came to my thoughts of when I was freshmen year in high school. My English teacher asked each student: Are you successful? Most of my classmates replied that they were not successful yet, as many of their dreams and goals were still not in place. Some of them wanted to go to a state university, others wanted to become architects and doctors, and many other dreams. As I sat back and listened to their answer, I couldn’t help it but to feel unhappy for their response, and then my turn to answer came up... I looked into my teacher’s eye and after a few seconds of silence I replied: I am successful, I’m successful every day. She was very surprised to how confident I had answered her question and asked me to elaborate more on why I felt that way. At the moment I remember that my answer came from knowing that I had been able to learn something new every day I was in school, therefore I felt I had many successful days which would lead to a bigger success path in the future.

As I was on my bed a few days ago just remembering that day in high school, I felt like if I were to answer that same question: are you successful? I probably would answer the same way my classmates did back in high school, and then I knew I had to make a change in the way I live my life.

Today I am making this change, and this is the reason you may be listening to this podcast now, because I decided to just do it. No more excuses or waiting for the right time. The right time is now.

I hope that with my story I’m able to motivate many more people to pursue their dreams. It’s not about the most expensive camera or most expensive microphone, it’s about you and what you can put out in the world. Know that you are special and have a purpose, and it is up to you find what your purpose is and make a difference in the world.
