She struggled to find life’s meaning. Overtime, Sarah found ways to bounce back from life’s setbacks due to both life-altering experiences her family had to endure. While awaiting Ciar’s case to be solved, she became a volunteer with Moms Demand Action, and as a national Fellow with the Everytown Survivor Network. Sarah believes that it’s incredibly important for people to know homicide hits every community, race, and gender. Sarah has committed her life’s work to being the voice of Ciar, in hope that one day to bring closure to her son’s murder. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month Mollie Peterson is a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She has worked in the Criminal Justice and Social work field for over 40 years. In 2019 shared her Domestic violence story and in 2020 became an active volunteer and advocate with Mom's Demand Action and Everytown Survivor network. I'm sharing my story to encourage others that all voices matter and to add a face with Michigan political leaders and demand action on laws pertaining to Domestic Violence including Red Flag laws. I want every survivor to know they are not alone and help is available, sometimes you have to find your tribe for supports.
