Quotes

“I think it’s important to dress accordingly. I’m on Zoom calls every single day, and so typically I have my pajama bottoms and of course a nice sweater or a nice top. But I think that it’s important to dress accordingly, like, as you would if you were going to an in-person interview.” [6:24]

“When I’m interviewing, I always have my resume on the side so I can reference that. Then I make it known to the hiring manager, the interviewer, that I do have my resume on the side just in case I need to reference it, just in case they have any questions as well.” [14:22]

“I speak fast. So those are the things that I’m working on. But pause. If you find yourself speaking fast, kinda take a breath, a breather, and pause. Don’t interrupt the interviewer when they’re speaking. Listen, and then follow up with answers to their questions.” [17:49]

“I would tell candidates ‘don’t ever put your eggs in one basket.’ You should be constantly applying and you should be constantly interviewing until an offer is in hand.” [22:31]

“You want to be remembered. You want them to think about you when they’re interviewing other candidates. It’s like a comparison thing. You want them to compare you to other people when they’re interviewing. And their mind is always on you because, for some reason, you sold yourself. They were intrigued by you, by your presence. And so you want that, you want to be memorable, you want that to happen during the interview process.” [28:52]
