Ask Aya: Do You Have a Core Management Team?

6m · Published 19 Apr 08:51

Today's question is:“Do you have a core management team? How do you delegate and monitor responsibilities?”

In this episode, I share how having a core management team has positively changed how I run my business. Here’s why you should consider it too:

💡 A core management team allows for better delegation and monitoring of responsibilities.

💡 It relieves the pressure on you to do everything yourself, just as it did for me!

💡 Using apps and tools for our digital headquarters has improved project monitoring and business management.

💡 Delegating and giving autonomy to employees reduces micromanagement and empowers the team.

💡 Having a well-defined management structure and responsibilities allows for better work-life balance and peace of mind.

Welcome to Architect My Business!

12m · Published 08 Mar 14:37

It's finally here! 🎙️

Introducing Architect My Business — a business growth podcast for architects and designers in the AEC who are thinking of starting, already managing or want to take their business to the next level.

Launching on International Women's Day means so much to me as I celebrate my biggest inspiration: my mom. She's not just an entrepreneur; she's my SHEro.

From being a stay-at-home mom to selling baked goods to friendst that then turned into a bakery. Then stunb like a bakery and jewelry manufacturing business with over 300 female employees, her skills influenced how I managed my company.

One of the key lessons she taught me is that evolution is a part of life, and reinvention is a sign of growth. And today, I’m putting her wisdom to practice as I reinvent myself to serve a wider audience through this new podcast.

Creatives are taught how to master their craft, but not how to run or grow their business — with this podcast, I want to bridge that gap by offering practical tips on leadership, marketing, processes, and profit.

And there's more! Alongside Architect My Business, I have two mini-shows: Ask Aya and Her Space.

Ever since I started my company, people have been asking me for business advice. ‘Ask Aya’ is a mini-show where I'll tackle your questions about business, career, or whatever else, all squeezed into quick 8-minute episodes.

Her Space is close to my heart. It's a continuation of the Architect My Life Podcast, celebrating the stories and experiences of women in the built environment, just like those who inspired me on my journey.

Running a profitable architecture or design business isn't easy, but with this resource, I hope to guide you towards success, whether you're just starting or aiming to level up.

Architect My Life: The Final Episode

8m · Published 01 Mar 14:56

Happy International Women’s Month!

As we kick off this new month, I want to share some bittersweet news — today marks the final episode of Architect My Life (AML) – a women in architecture podcast.

During the pandemic, I launched this podcast to support women balancing work, family, and business from home. Over time, it grew into a platform highlighting incredible women who inspire us all to be our best.

Recording this last episode stirred up a mix of emotions for me. AML started as a passion project but grew into something far more impactful and opened doors to unexpected opportunities.

The past three years with AML have also been a journey of growth and development for me. I've grown alongside the community that has supported me from the beginning. This led me to understand that now is the right time to transition — and I’m so excited to tell you what's coming next!

So, the end of this podcast simply means that I'll be coming back with even better ideas and tools to "step up." Because like you, I'm always seeking growth and learning, and there's no better way to do that than together. We'll keep you posted on this transition, so be sure to follow our socials to stay updated.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Here's to the next chapter of growth and stay tuned for my big announcement on March 8th, International Women’s Day!
