Rather than be tethered to what the numbers themselves seem to be saying, John is a proponent of using financial data as a jumping-off point to engage in a broader conversation about the whole organization. Letting this broader conversation guide his approach to finance, instead of letting the isolated data guide the organization, has formed John into a holistic leader who recognizes the role each department has to play in shaping a business’s success.
