How collaborative innovation can bring about business pivots and growth In this episode we chat to Emma Marshall of L Marks and Jerome Flint of e-bot7. Having taken part in a number of accelerator programmes, joining forces with corporates from across a wide-range of industries, Jerome will tell us about how these collaborations have moved the business forward and enabled it to manoeuvre in new directions. Programme Manager at L Marks, Emma Marshall has worked with a diverse range of startups – including e-bot7, through innovation programmes including iLabX with Volvo Financial Services and United Utilities Innovation Lab.

In part 2 we talk to Alex Wrottesley of Geovation, Guy Davenport of Locpin and Sam Bird of L Marks, taking a closer look at collaboration through the lens of location and property innovation. Our guests share their perspectives on startup-corporate collaboration, drawing on their varied experience to suggest how startups can successfully work/engage/collaborate with big corporates. Alex and Sam help us understand the opportunities that organisations like Geovation and L Marks provide for startups and the factors that influence the success of young companies on their programmes. Through Geovation and L Marks programmes, Guy’s company, Locpin, has collaborated with – and continues to work with – large organisations including Belron, parent company of Autoglass. Guy tells us how this sort of collaboration plays out in practice, highlighting the associated benefits and risks, and explains how open collaboration allows companies of all sizes to keep pace with the rate of change.

Making the case for collaboration, Daniel tells us why it as important to embed entrepreneurship into a corporate as it is to embed startup solutions, while Matt shows us what entrepreneurship and cultural change look like in the context of large organisations.
