This week I chatted to Scarlett Bruns owner of Leo Management a talent agency in Vancouver. We chatted about her journey from actor to talent agent, what she looks for when adding actors to her roster, branding and some fun rapid fire questions! So, grab a coffee and enjoy! :)

BIO:

For the past 30 years, Scarlett has been immersed in the theatre, film and television idustries. Over the years she has contributed to major productions as an actor, casting director, producer, director, writer and acting coach. She is the owner of Leo Management talent agency in Vancouver.

In January 2013 Scarlett, among others, spearheaded the #SaveBCFilm movement PSA's. Scarlett cast, produced and coordinated a cast of close to 100 well-known actors and respected film industry professionals, such asAmanda Tapping,Kristin Lehman,Mackenzie GrayandAdrian Holmes, who appeared in front of the camera to show their support for the industry and to educate the public on the benefits of having a thriving film industry in Vancouver.

Through her work behind the camera, Scarlett was eager to learn more about the role talent agents played in the filmmaking process and developing an actors career. From 2009 - 2012 she worked at a Vancouver based talent agency, applying her experience as an actor, casting director, and producer to help her clients secure work in some of Canada's biggest productions. Scarlett then challenged herself to create a new way of approaching talent management and founded Leo Management in 2013.

Sarah is an Italian Australian actress, writer and comedian based in Melbourne, Australia and the creator of the popular @wailingsarah Instagram account. With the blood of Naples running through her, it was no wonder Sarah inherited the melodramatic flair of her ancestors and a knack for physical comedy. A multiple award-winning actress she has received multiple accolades for her work in the digital series’ THE HOLIEST ONE (Sydney Web Fest, New Jersey Web Fest, Asia Web Awards) and MADDALENA (New York Web Fest, NZ Web Fest, Seoul Web Fest). As a writer and performer, she is driven to create works that celebrate women in all their complexities.

Originally from Alberta, Diane braved many miserable winters in the prairies before moving to the west coast to attend law school at UBC. Soon after graduating, however, Diane realized that her true passions lay in the arts rather than in law. From there, she began taking acting classes while working in her day job as a corporate recruiter.
Eventually making the decision to merge her legal, business, and career-coaching experience with a continuing love of the film industry, Diane joined Leo Management in 2015 as a Principal & Commercial agent.In fall 2016, Diane moved to Connekt Creative to expand her talent agent portfolio to include voiceover representation.In the summer of 2018, Diane joined the team at Lucas Talent and is proud to now be part of one of Canada's most established and well-recognized agencies.

Outside of her financial nerdery, Abigail is a dynamic and versatile performer, most recently seen on stage in Nick Payne's Constellations, and on screen in the Screen Australia funded web-series 2121, opposite Gary Sweet. She's a sucker for an indoor plant, and believes that any budget with a 'no latte' rule is the worst sort of budget. Viva la coffee!

Farah is a Pakistani-born American Muslim Actor-Model living in Los Angeles, California. She was recently featured in Refinery29’s money talk series. She’s on the committee board for the Muslim Women in Film and TV organization and a member of the South Asian Women in Entertainment organization. Farah loves to travel, write, and practice yoga.

This week I chatted to Drew Talbert! I like to say I knew Drew before he became Tik Tok famous as I took his improv classes at The Groundlings and I'm so proud of his new found success! Bio:

Drew is an actor, content creator and improv coach with a comedic waiter-themed TikTok channel that ranks in the top 5 percent in followers and likes. His videos can also be found on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. He teaches improv to actors and non-actors at The Groundlings Theater and School, and has coached privately and in the corporate environment (Instacart, Community Coalition). As an actor, Drew’s recent credits include his multi-character one man show,Right Side of the Tracks, the film4/20 Massacre, the pilot presentation,Corporately Challenged, as well as various national commercials.
