I give my 2 cents on how social media has become such a staple in todays society that so many people are trying to determine the impact of it on our society and its immeasurable due to all of the types of social media platforms. From connecting friends, to posting pictures, to fake news, to dating, even learning a new skill social media has impacted all of us in some way shape or form. What a lot of people don’t understand is that even though social media is bound to impact us we are in charge of HOW it impacts us. I talk throughout the episode on how social media is a highlight reel, how I think it has impacted society and my life specifically, along with random two cents. I give my 2 cents on how how putting in the hard work will always lead to success. Whether that success come in the form of school, your career, your relationship, your fitness journey, food, or even something as little as mowing the grass. Without putting in work none of these things would be possible. It seems to me that as a society we have been very keen on wanting things to happen very quickly or with the least amount of work involved so we can go home and watch netflix or hulu and hang with our friends. I truly don’t understand how as a society we have become so anti work. It seems younger people are pushing for shorter work weeks but higher pay, longer breaks etc. I discuss how we need to realize that instant gratification isn't real and we will be much happier knowing we completed something we struggle with. Wealth is a journey, not a destination. It is more than money in the bank and possessing expensive items. You will gain money and you will spend it. You will earn it and lose it. Being rich is when you arrive at a place where you are able to be content with and manage what you have — no matter how much or how little. Being rich is a state of mind and a place of peace that is not greedy and constantly reaching for more. It's a journey of contentment. And that journey doesn't happen overnight. Our rapidly moving, information-based society badly needs people who know how to find facts rather than memorize them, and who know how to cope with change in creative ways. You don’t learn those things in school. We need to learn and find things rather than knowing and memorizing information that doesn’t impact our day to day functions and increases our world as a whole.
