How to use video to grow your brand and business? | Creating content that gets your business noticed

48m · Published 27 Mar 07:00

Aaron is the founder of Drafter, a freelancer publishing platform, and the owner of King Sports, a strength and conditioning platform.

Aaron is also a talented video content creator for businesses. In this video, he shared his inspiring journey from a football star at the University of Texas at El Paso to a successful video content creator.

During our conversation, Aaron gave some valuable tips on going viral without being pigeonholed into a gimmick. He emphasized the importance of putting yourself out there, even if you're afraid of what others may think.

As someone who grew up with a strength and conditioning coach father, Aaron was exposed to both the professional sports world and the entrepreneurial world. His father had three Super Bowls, two gold medals as a coach, and published with the NBA. He also had a gym, and Aaron learned the demands of being an entrepreneur.

After playing sports, Aaron started a curriculum business after playing sports, which turned into King Sports. However, an agency couldn't deliver on what Aaron felt was necessary, leading to King Sports's evolution, demonstrating instruction from a domain expert standpoint.

Aaron began his entrepreneurial journey by editing for an agency and realized he could build his own team and start his own agency. He came to understand that the journey is often full of unexpected turns, and he should not become too attached to any one idea.

Aaron also discussed the importance of finding one's skill set and niching down, as many entrepreneurs are multi-passionate.

He concluded by mentioning that he had just signed a contract with one of the state agencies. Specifically, he discussed a contract for the Iva Department of Aging about customer experience and how his binge of learning and reading about customer experience helped him to execute that contract. Finally, he shared his approach to dealing with dopamine rushes and staying focused, as entrepreneurs are often distracted by the 'shiny object' of notifications and other things.
Aaron also discussed the importance of having systems and operations in place, creating products rather than just services, and the idea of the 'curse of knowledge.' Knowing too much can lead to bad decisions, and Aaron is more selective and aware of business challenges now than he was in his twenties. I hope you found Aaron's journey as inspiring as I did, and please don't forget to like and subscribe to our channel for more videos like this.

Episode #1: How To Build Customer Relationships: Create customers for life

Maurice and Danielle are discussing the importance of customer relationships and customer service. Maurice explains that it is not enough to just have the business and paperwork but to get to know who the customer is and understand what they need. She gives an example of how he called the bank to let them know the customer had insurance, and then wrote the customer the same day with a quote. She states that customer service is not just about the business, but also about retaining the business. Danielle then talks about how her superpower is turning strangers into friends.

Danielle then dives into the conversation about customer relationships, and how it is important to get to know the customer and understand their needs. They discuss how customers can be easily turned off by bad customer service, and how it is important to keep customers engaged and provide great customer service to ensure the success of the business.

Maurice and Danielle have known each other for over eight years, when Danielle first called Maurice for an insurance quote for his home. They both recall their first interaction vividly, as Danielle made Maurice feel welcomed and comfortable. Danielle has been in the insurance business for nearly two decades and he believes that building customer relationships is the most important part of the job.

She doesn't view his job as selling insurance, but rather building relationships with his customers. Danielle believes that strong customer relationships lead to mutual understanding and trust, and that is what makes a successful business.

Danielle is discussing the importance of relationship building in business, particularly in the insurance industry. She explains that he tries to make a connection with her customers by asking them about their family and finding commonalities between them. Her approach of setting aside paperwork and just talking with the customer was inspired by a customer service representative he worked with, who was always bubbly and kind.

The speaker also talks about how he uses smart talk to listen for products that would fit into their lives, such as life insurance. She concludes by saying that the goal is to make the customer feel like old friends and to get to know them better.
