The Healthy Workplace: Movement as Medicine

17m · Published 08 Nov 06:00

For us real estate professionals, so much of our life is organized into routines. The busyness of our lives can cause us to not want to move, which actually creates more stress in our lives. However, in being mindful of our bodies wants and needs and taking steps to provide our bodies with what they need, we are actually bringing more connectedness and presence to our workplace and the people around us. In this episode, I talk to Jennifer Moran, and we have a beautiful conversation about incorporating intentional movement throughout our day.

Jennifer Moran is a passionate advocate for health and health equity. Boasting over two decades of experience as a dedicated, healing body worker, her work has been transformative, helping individuals not only with their physical wellbeing, but also enhancing their mental and spiritual harmony. Beyond her extensive healing expertise, Jennifer holds the role of co-founder and director at Community Well, a holistic wellness center in San Francisco. Jennifer’s unwavering dedication to self-improvement is palpable to her lifelong commitment to learning, and her profound spiritual practices that inform her life’s journey.

  • Expending small amounts of energy can bring you new energy
  • Let your body’s needs dictate your movement routines
  • How self care can bring about community

15m · Published 25 Oct 14:00

We all have a desire to be more productive, not only to show up more efficiently in our work, but also in our personal lives. The spaces we inhabit can either contribute to the stressors of our daily lives, or they can create a sense of calm. The way we approach organization, through the tools we use and the way we’ve sorted our physical space, can greatly affect how we feel day to day, so it’s very important to find what works for us as individuals. In this episode, I talk to Christin Mayer of Life Sorted for a beautiful conversation about organization and planning.

Christin Mayer is a passionate advocate for finding simplicity in the art of organizing and planning. As a coach and creator of Life Sorted, Christin is dedicated to supporting individuals in discovering the beauty and peace that comes from streamlining their lives and making room for what truly matters.

Wellness From Within: Nurturing Gut Health

18m · Published 11 Oct 05:00

Do you suffer from brain fog, sluggishness, anxiety, bloating, or constipation? Do you tend to get sick easily? These symptoms might sound wide-ranging and unrelated, but in reality they could all be traced back to poor gut health. As real estate professionals, we may not realize that the stress of our busy jobs might be making some of these symptoms worse. The gut is actually linked to almost all functions in or body, including 80% of our immune function. In this episode, I talk to Morgan Glodowski of Moksha Embodied, who helps simplify gut health and make small but effective changes that can greatly improve our gut balance.

Morgan is not just your ordinary registered nurse and integrative health practitioner. She seamlessly integrates the profound benefits of breath work and intuitive bodywork into her holistic approach. Recognizing that immune and gut health often require addressing emotional aspects, Morgan collaborates with her online health coaching clients to go beyond the physical realm. In addition to employing root-cause lab testing and tailored protocols, Morgan empowers her clients by guiding them through informative breath work and somatic release exercises. By combining these elements, individuals can effectively rewire neural pathways, finally breaking free from stagnant patterns and achieving lasting wellness.

In this conversation we discuss:

  • How the health of our gut affects all parts of our wellness
  • The gut’s connection to our immune system, nervous system, and brain
  • How chronic stress response prevents us from digesting properly, leading to overgrowth in the gut
  • What is leaky gut and how we can strengthen our gut lining through reducing inflammation
  • Seemingly “healthy” foods that might be damaging to our gut
  • The role of probiotics and prebiotics, and the cautions of supplementation
  • How to shift the body into a parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” state

For this week’s practice, I encourage you to curate some mindfulness and sit in gratitude before meals, to ease your body into a resting state while eating.

Fueling Success: Nutrition Hacks for Professionals

18m · Published 27 Sep 05:00

When you picture what it means to eat “healthy,” do you start to feel overwhelmed? As real estate professionals, we lead incredibly busy lives and long workdays. Although we’d all love if we could cook Pinterest-worthy healthy meals from scratch every single night, we don’t realistically have the time or energy for that. In this episode, I talk to Nina McGoff, who helps us demystify nutrition and plan around our busy schedules for as much satisfaction in our eating as possible.

Nina McGoff is a seasoned trainer, coach, and dedicated mother of two boys. With over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, including more than 8 years of training clients both in-person and online, Nina has honed her expertise to empower others to achieve their wellness goals. Nina’s passion lies in guiding busy women on their journey to feeling their absolute best.

In this conversation we discuss:

  • Finding a balance between fresh, home-cooked meals and easy go-tos
  • Embracing simplicity in meals: a full recipe is not always necessary
  • Always eat breakfast
  • “Satisfying and satiating” meals over “little and light”
  • Having grace for yourself in the ups and downs
  • How a little planning goes a long way
  • Making healthier choices at social and professional gatherings: indulging wisely

For this week’s practice, I encourage you to try to be more intentional about your breakfasts, and notice how that affects your energy levels throughout the day.
