Avery Judge has lived her whole life in Brookline. She considers herself a self-taught artist and first got involved in art as a child. While she values her upbringing close to Boston, Judge is ready to take her craft to the next level by leaving to go study at The Pratt Institute in New York City. By being exposed to a larger art scene, Judge hopes to eventually return to the Boston area and work as a studio artist. The student also shares experiences with the Coronavirus Pandemic, political involvement, and work series.

Season 1 Episode 4 - The Q-Tip Bandits

The Q-Tip Bandits is a local band made up of close friends who all met while studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. While the band is based in Brookline, an opportunity to record at Northeastern University sparked their musical journey. The group recorded a debut single, “Willow,” which garnered high praise and thousands of streams on Spotify. This ultimately led the Q-Tips to tour nationally and internationally and generate a larger following. The band has since released a new project and is working on more future endeavors. Founders Leo Son and Claire Davis talk about the Q-Tip’s musical stylings, inspirations and foundations, as well as their experiences as young professionals in the music industry.

Ruth has been a studio artist in the Brookline/Boston area for decades. Born andraised in Brooklyn, New York, Ruth moved to Boston after completing her graduatedegree. She has dealt with a number of different mediums and subject matter throughout her career but her primary focuses have been tapestry art, photography and oil painting. Ruth also mostly explores the various themesrelated to the natural world. I got the chance to talk to Ruth about her career as well as her multiple excursions (Mexico and upstate Maine) artistic inspirations, and her impact on the Brookline Community (Brookline Open Studios, senior center project) as well as why she considers Brookline the perfect place to live as an artist.
