Irony, she does exactly this for her clients through providing a "plug and play" service.  She provides back-office support and team augmentation for digital agencies.

This is not your traditional business startup story. Amy's life changed when she least expected - we can all relate to this in one way or another.  What her employers say to her is almost unbelievable. So she took her life into her own hands and the rest is - as they say - "history!!"

If you want to know how to build a business entirely on referrals - this is the episode for you. It's an astounding achievement and especially from those first 3 clients!

For anyone building team and especially if you have not had much experience with recruitment, Amy is Super Generous with sharing their recruitment process.

E124 Jo Dodds is the consultants' consultant, the coaches' coach!

51m · Published 17 Jun 20:00

After many years in the corporate world of Retail HR, Jo Dodds started her home based business in August 2005.

In this episode of So You Want to Start a Business Jo tells us about that first business and the iterations to reach the business she runs today - Power to Live More

Pricing is always one of the sticky/ tricky aspects for people in a service based business.

Listen out as Jo explains the Risk Reversal Guarantee pricing strategy she started out using in her publishing business.

She now uses this in her service based business – smart strategy. She said it was a “no brainer” for her.

We have quite a lengthy discussion about having the mindset to be able to charge what you believe you are worth. I think you’ll find it helpful because so many people tell me this is where they get stuck!

Like many of our guests Jo identifies tenacity as one of her key characteristics and she and I have a similar positive outlook on life.

I have been on Jo's podcast - episode number 153 click here to listen to that one where I chat with Jo about How to Make Good Decisions in business.

I truly think you are going to enjoy this interview conversation as Jo tells her wonderful business startup story.

E121 Bonnie Kelly; helping people "de-weed their minds of unhelpful emotions so they can become emotionally resilient"

1h 4m · Published 08 Jun 20:00

Emotional intelligence expert, speaker and author Bonnie Kelly teaches people how to de-weed their minds of unhelpful emotions and become emotionally resilient by recognizing and weeding out Negative Core Beliefs—hurtful subconscious power statements we believe to be true about ourselves, such as: “I’m not good enough,” I don’t deserve to be loved” or “I can’t do anything right.”

In this high energy conversation with Bonnie we talk about all the things have contributed to Bonnie building the successful business she has today.

We talk about getting feedback - from people who are qualified to give us feedback on any given topic. Feedback vs seeking approval.

Bonnie says "Don't allow your results of yesterday to define your tomorrow" and she comes back to her key theme and the value she provides:

She ends self-sabotage. She says:

It's not your fault, but it is your responsibility.

In this interview conversation Bonnie talks about the topics she covers in her book:

“True to Your Core: Uncovering the Subconscious Beliefs Wreaking Havoc in Your Life”

In this book, Bonnie guides people to recognize the weight of regrets, shame and guilt from the past and how they are currently impacting our present lives.

Through bringing these unconscious patterns into our conscious awareness, Bonnie supports people to move from victim to victory. It's never too late to de-weed your life and cultivate a healthy, organic emotional state!

Emily Soccorsy [So-KOR-SEE] and Justin Foster are co-founders of Root + River, an intrinsic branding practice.

They believe that the 20th century approach to manufacturing brands is over - where branding meant creating a contrived perception (think: Marlboro Man, Betty Crocker). Most often, the manufactured brand was detached from the reality of what happened inside the company and inside the leader’s heart and mind. How even more true is this right now?

A new, more humanistic and experiential age is daening, based on the idea that branding is how other people experience what you believe.

In this episode they talk about their business startup successes and challenges.
