Our second guest episode. Lora Krasteva of Untrained Effort talks to the completely inspiring Katy Rubin, one of the world's leading practitioners of Legislative Theatre. They discuss Katy working with Augusto Boal, her founding of Theatre Of The Oppressed NYC and about her current projects working with Greater Manchester Homelessness Action Network and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. It really is Legislative Theatre in action, precipitating real change.

Our first guest episode, where the podcast is produced and edited by a guest contributor. We hear from SBC Theatre, based in Bradford and the UK's first Theatre Company of Sanctuary; meaning that all their work is with, about and for refugees, asylum seekers and people new to the UK. David Jubb talks to Jonny Davenport, co-founder and artistic director of The Old Courts - 69,000 square feet of arts centre in the middle of Wigan. Jonny tells us about opening up the building and a six year journey, working with the Wigan community, to create a place of belonging, hope and potential. He tells us about how the relationships they grew helped themrespond to the pandemic. This is a wonderful story of a community serving venue.

David Jubb talks with the positive and progressive Saad-Eddine Said. Saad says 'there are some brilliant brilliant people who are working in the cultural industry.....we are all trying to navigate our way through a system that wasn't built, specifically, for today.' He offers up his ideas about how we can each play our part to change the cultural sector for the better. He is an inspiration.

David Jubb talks to Company Three member's - Angie, Bailey, Kezia, Aaliyah, Alannah and Ned. They share stories of how they went from nervously crying at the door to creating unique, devised work where their lives and experiences as teenagers are "ingrained" in the material. They tell us they carried on during the pandemic as "there wasn't a choice", and in doing so created an extraordinary international project.

In the third episode David Jubb speaks to Anisa Morridadi, founder and CEO of Birmingham based Beatfreeks. It all started with a poetry jam and Anisa’s generous idea to build the thing that builds more things. She talks about handing back her British Empire Medal and shows us the way to a different kind of cultural sector.
