EPISODE 174 - JAY JEFFERS

25m · Design Perspectives · 12 Apr 07:00

Jay Jeffers is the founder of JayJeffers Inc., coowner and designer of The Madrona, a boutique hotel and restaurant in Healdsburg, CA, and a celebrated interior designer known for creating luxurious, livable spaces with soul. At his renowned design firm, JayJeffers Inc. – which has offices in San Francisco and New York City – Jay offers a full range of concept-to-installation services including interior architecture, custom furniture design, art and antiques acquisitions and decoration, expertly curating homes all over California, New York, Texas, Florida and beyond. Jay has authored two books, Collected Cool and Be Bold, received numerous honors including being named to Elle Décor’s A-list, and is regularly featured in notable shelter magazines, national newspapers, and show houses. Jay has also designed a fine line of architectural hardware for Accurate Lock & Hardware and three collections with Arteriors.

After dedicating his career to designing bespoke homes for dynamic clients within the luxury market, Jay was thrilled to bring his talents to his debut hotel, The Madrona, which opened in spring 2022. With a deep love for hotels throughout most of his life, Jay discovered and acquired the property for The Madrona in 2020, along with his brother Kyle Jeffers and a group of investors. He has since personally designed every element of the hotel, restaurant, and guest experience, reimagining the historic showpiece to reflect a modern-day interpretation of late 19th century aestheticism, a movement dedicated to pure beauty, combining intellect with art and the exotic.

Jay lives in San Francisco, New York City, and wine country with his two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Olive and Royal.
