Safiya Khalid is an American politician from Lewiston, Maine. Khalid is the first Somali-American and youngest person ever elected to serve at the city council in Lewiston, Maine. 

In this episode Safiya and I discuses her journey of becoming the first Somali-American elected to city council in Lewiston, Maine. Safiya shared with us the struggles she went through and why she chose to run for office.
