Spartan Like Culture W/ Adam Faris Ep.027

19m · Published 11 Oct 15:45
As a lifelong athlete (wrestling and football) I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness, but never thought of it as a career possibility until I experienced my 3rd lay-off in a period of 10 years in the corporate world. I finally said enough is enough and decided to be my own boss and pursue something I knew would make myself (and others) happy. In January of 2015 I enrolled at The National Personal Training Institute in Philadelphia (NPTI for short) and quickly had my eyes opened to what being a “trainer”/gym owner could look like. After training people at local parks and out of my garage for a few months, I opened P.O.H. Personal Training and Fitness (Pursuit of Happiness) in late 2015 and never looked back. Specializing in adult strength and conditioning and group fitness, P.O.H. (now known as Pursuit Fitness and Training) has become one of the premier group training facilities in south jersey and emphasizes the “FUN” In FUNctional Training.

Project Refit W/ James Corbett & Daniel Lombard Ep.026

28m · Published 24 Sep 15:11
Project Refit's story begins in the valleys of Afghanistan. Daniel Lombard, Co-Founder of Project Refit, was involved in two IED explosions. The worst of his injuries were TBI and PTSD. His healing story is not so different from many other Veterans'. The one common denominator between his recovery and others who have healed is overcoming the STIGMA around mental health. Project Refit is committed to a single goal: reduce veteran suicide rates. They are a private, non-profit organization dedicated to connecting veterans with peer-to-peer support. They want to spread awareness AND attack the issue of PTSD head-on.

#BringBackTheRightSide W/ Allie Bradian & Bella Picard Ep.025

Bella and Allies mission is to encourage others to start “bringing back” the “right side” of themselves in hopes of bettering our society altogether. They want to help guide others to simply do what seems right in every life situation; no matter how tragic or fantastic your circumstances are, there is always a choice to do the right thing. Believing in the power of radiating positivity through living a lifestyle that portrays the good in all of us, they want to encourage others to try to be the best teammates to each other in this crazy game of life we all participate in every day. Their hope is to start seeing our generation living a lifestyle that is right by how they act, play, live, and treat others every day. https://www.bringbacktherightside.com Instagram: @alliebradian @isabellapicard Facebook: @bringbacktherightside Isabella Picard Allie Bradian Twitter: @isabellapicard Email: [email protected]

What it takes to be a CEO W/Rocco Romanella Ep.024

28m · Published 13 Aug 20:42
The Art of Inspiration is all about chasing your dreams and my over 40-year career is one of those journey’s. Although no one has the only and exact answer, I believe I have some stories and experiences that may help to find the recipe for success. All of us will have to overcome obstacles and transform our lives. My career has been no different and now after a wonderful career I enjoy the opportunity to inspire people to go after their dreams no matter where they are in their life and career. I am a graduate of St John’s University, class of 1980, Staten Island campus a commuter college as I worked and paid my way through college. I believe you and your audience will appreciate this. I realize this is not a political view point but a social one where I like to talk about how hard work and enthusiasm are still critical components of success whether in a big company or as an entrepreneur or in life in general. There is no substitute for hard work. I am a witty, Blue-Collar Guy who rose through the ranks at UPS. I then became a CEO and Board member of a small telecom company after UPS. Today, I am now a small business owner. I think your audience would enjoy the story and the values, ethics and hard work which are the blueprint. This is also something I believe your audience will respect. I believe your audience will appreciate that I started unloading trailers at UPS out of High School and worked my way into a senior level. I believe that we all have a responsibility to leave things a little better than we found it. This is LEGACY I have recently published a book that I think will relate to your audience. I believe Values Matter. I wrote the book in a very different way than past leaders and most leadership and business books have been written. I also believe my book will be an enjoyable read in some difficult times. The book was released February 15th. The title of the book is Tighten the Lug Nuts. It is all about how we make choices and how those choices determine the kind of leader we can be. In my book Tighten the Lug Nuts: The Principles of Balanced Leadership, I use my over forty years of experience in supply chain, logistics and transportation, retail, sales and operational management at UPS, and in my CEO and Director roles at a company I worked at after my UPS days, to explore the ways a true leader can add value as a trusted advisor, mentor, and visionary who uses a process approach to lead the organization and its people to new levels of success. In an engaging, personal, and witty style (through my character Joe Scafone) I detail how leaders must make their three major constituents equal priority by actively listening to their needs and building strong relationships. By following the steps that are laid out, you can truly learn the importance of Balanced Leadership. I believe the true measure of a great leader is someone who leaves things a little better than they found them. In Tighten the Lug Nuts, you’ll follow Joe Scafone as he demonstrates the importance of small acts of kindness, the power that comes with understanding your role, and the freedom that accepting responsibility affords. Learn how to tighten the lug nuts in your own life to keep from becoming overwhelmed and to take the steps to becoming a truly balanced and valuable leader. I was hoping you might find value in this book and I would be honored to discuss my book with you, your team and your audience.
