27 - with guest Kelsey Ellis

51m · Published 26 Jan 07:54

Kelsey Ellis (aka @Healthy_with_Kelsey) is our guest in this episode where we talk about anxiety, disordered eating/exercising, and how she learned to show up and be present in her own body and now creates spaces where others can do the same.

Kelsey (she/her) is an award-winning, body-positive Health and Fitness Expert based in Vancouver, Canada. She is both a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer on a mission to empower individuals to take the shame out of their wellness game through letting go of self judgment, practicing intuitive eating and honouring joyful movement.

Kelsey offers group coaching programs on intuitive eating, helping clients learn how to trust themselves around food again, let go of destructive dieting behaviour and make peace with food and their bodies once and for all. She also teaches body-positive fitness classes both live through her Patreon platform and via her YouTube channel ‘Healthy With Kelsey’.

Her classes center physical movement from a wellness-centered approach and she encourages her audience to move their bodies in a way that feels best for them! You can expect to leave Kelsey’s mood-boosting fitness classes and group coaching programs feeling energized and inspired to love yourself a little bit more!

Ep. 26

19m · Published 19 Jan 07:58

I’ve been feeling a sort of social dilemma (social media, that is) recently and KNOW I’m not alone in it. This episode we talk about the intense draw of social media, and the fear that can come with disconnecting from it, as well as the true core of it that we are actually seeking (spoiler: it’s connection)!

-

I mentioned Episode 24 where we talk about the fear that no one remembers you unless you make yourself visible/relavant.

Ep. 22 - “Small” steps still climb mountains!

17m · Published 10 Nov 07:56

One of my FAVOURITE quotes (it’s even engraved on my iPad) is something I saw Dominic Monaghan (Merry from Lord of the Rings) say: “Baby steps still climb mountains.” As someone that struggles with overwhelm and being wayyyy too harsh on myself, the concept of taking small steps and still gaining momentum is MASSIVE and it’s what we’re talking about this episode!

-

Books mentioned: The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy & the Circle of Control (The Zorro Circle) concept is from The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor. {I strongly recommend reading both!}

Ep. 20

17m · Published 27 Oct 06:54

In our 20th (🤯) episode, we’re talking about victim mindsets. [Don’t worry, we take DEEEP breaths in the process.]

This episode topic was inspired by our previous guest, Nabeelah and a quote she said! Listen to that episode here.

The song I mentioned is $money Mantra$ by Moonlight Scorpio
