It's true friend, first impressions do matter.

The image you project when meeting someone for the first time can be permanent. If you smile and convey confidence and composure, you'll make a positive and long-lasting first impression.

So here are four very simple yet helpful tips to help you greet correctly. As most of us make our return to face to face interactions after an extended period of working and socialising remotely, they serve as a reminder that etiquette is about consideration and respect and it applies to everyone.

Good manners are a valuable asset that cost nothing to acquire.

'Being a woman is a superpower' - Mususu Chisanga.

Mususu has been described by others as a highly competent professional who is committed to excellence and is always striving to continuously improve herself. She is said to have a high level of emotional intelligence, is self aware, empathetic and self motivated. 

As a leader, she is described as having a collaborative approach, always ensuring that opinions and thoughts of others are heard and amplified to compile the best result.

Mususu holds an Honours Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) and an MBA, Marketing Strategy and creates harmony between her demanding roles as a wife, mum, highly driven professional and leader of a global team. WOW!

I hope her story of building such an engaging personal brand inspires you and provides you with some useful tips and tricks on how you too can create such a unique personal brand. I believe you can become what you can see in others.

Is it possible for someone to go from being a homeless migrant in a new country to being one of the country's 100 women of influence? Mariam says yes! it is possible. How about rising to the national stage within 1 year of graduating from University? Yep, can be done too.

Join me in conversation with Mariam as shares her view of personal branding and why she got interested in it.

Mariam is a Pakistani-Australian woman who is a speaker, facilitator, entrepreneur and coach. Mariam co-founded MoneyGirl – a social enterprise delivering financial literacy to young women.

Now, she speaks at events and organisations about the importance of intersectionality (Diversity and Inclusion) in organisational strategy, strength-based community building and stakeholder engagement.

She has been recognised by the Financial Review as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence, and by the State as a 2020 NSW Young Woman of the Year Finalist.

She joins me in conversation as we talk about personal branding and why she got interested in it.

In this episode, I am joined by Annie Gichuru, the founder of Uplifting Studios, a platform dedicated to supporting online business owners to build racially equitable businesses so they can be intentionally inclusive.

Annie has become a leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) coach & consultant for online entrepreneurs, most notable of which is her partnership with The Beautiful You Coaching Academy, where she supports trainees and coaches.

She is deeply passionate about representation through a racial justice lens, and combines her experience as an internationally certified life coach, her love of story telling, and her extensive career as a Human Resource specialist to deliver REPRESENTED - a transformational online program, which has been described as 'a must for all business owners who are ready to build a culturally and racially diverse, inclusive and equitable business'.

Annie's grace, gentle spirit and passion for a racially equitable world is setting her apart in the coaching and personal development industry as a compassionate educator with an incredible space holding ability.

Annie has called Australia home for more than 20 years, having relocated from Kenya as an international student. She now lives in New South Wales with her husband and 2 young children.
