Increasing Meaning in Your Talent Development Career

September 19, 2019
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

 Rice A

Talent Management

Like most (all?) of you, I've experienced thrilling jobs. Then there have been the times that I've only been working; times in which my job lacked the meaning I wanted. I felt disconnected. My experience, coupled with research, led to the development of a framework that helps you build meaning in your current job and throughout your talent development career. This framework focuses on the "what" questions that need to be answered to have meaning:

  • What do I talk about with supervisors?
  • What do I talk about with peers?
  • What metrics are important to me?
  • What should I focus on next to create more meaning in my current job? As you develop more meaning in your career, you also increase the meaning you bring to others as they struggle in their jobs. And you'll have the metrics to prove it.

Getting Succession Planning Right Using Assessments

September 19, 2019
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Despite the best intentions and time invested, many of today’s leadership succession planning processes miss the mark.  In fact, for decades studies consistently show that leadership ineffective rates are unacceptably high.  As we move to the fast-paced, constantly changing future, staying on the same course could have devasting results.  With today’s succession planning processes, there is too much room for human biases and gaps in observations that influence decisions. Also, an abundance of hidden talent, largely found with diverse candidates, is never brought to the surface because traditional methods often fail to recognize true or raw talent. In order to make essential data-driven decisions to identify, develop and deploy the best talent for your organization, a scientifically validated assessment is essential. Learn how to design a top-down succession planning assessment strategy using scientifically validated instruments to meet the rapidly changing and disruptive challenges of the future.
