She has had a long, successful business career in healthcare and tech, starting at pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly before moving on to consulting.

In this episode we take a chance to meet with Valerie Schweigert, the new Associate Director at the UW Q Center to hear all about their experiences working within a space dedicated to the advocacy and uplifting of LGBTQ+ identities, with a heavy focus on people of color in its mission. Tune in to learn what it's like to be in both an academic, activist, and community organizing space.

We learn about what it was like as an academic advisor at Bellevue College, attending Seattle University for Graduate Studies, coaching Pre Health students, and the importance of identity in the workplace.
