College Talk Series aims to provide a space for high school and college students to connect and support each other by sharing personal stories and experiences about their college admission journey. We hope to share with students helpful resources and guidance for the college admission process based on what has worked for many students. There will be episodes featuring students who are attending different colleges and universities across the U.S to talk and answer questions about their school while providing advice, tips, and insights into how to survive and thrive at their specific school.

More than 70 colleges typically offer free summer and fall visits for under-represented and diverse students to help acquaint students with campus culture, get a taste of the school’s academics, and give students a chance to see what the surrounding community is like.  Usually offered by private liberal arts colleges, these programs allow high-achieving students who are also low-income, first-generation, or underrepresented the opportunity to have their travel expenses paid for so they can visit a campus that may not be close by. Sadly, Covid-19 has prompted colleges to postpone or alter programs to virtual format but the benefits of applying and attending these programs are still there!
