Dr Sukamal Deb says North East is in the core of his heart as was born and brought up in North East. It is one of the richest geographical area of this great country. Each of the 8 states of NE has its own identity and culture. It is bio-diversified. 99% of its boundary is shared with international boundaries. It is well focus with South east Asian Countries. Colorful traditional textile is dominated activity of North Eastern states. Though Khadi was named Gandhi ji, but it is thousands of years old tradition. It was and is basic mantra for development of women folk of this north east region. Every household of NE especially tribal have amazing artisans and spinners; and sky is limit for Khadi. We further need to identify artisans and further research should be carried out in this area. People in remote areas know how to extend hospitality but research scholars should reciprocate in the same manner with love, respect and warmth to collect information from them. NE is unexplored heaven and for every tribe you can write a thesis.
