Changing Your Mindset from Victim to Victor with David Neagle (episode 333)

37m · Published 07 May 07:00

“The victim mindset dilutes the human potential. By not accepting personal responsibility for our circumstances, we greatly reduce our power to change them.”– Steve Maraboli . I all too often hear my clients say things like, “I have no choice with X situation, so I just put my head down and keep working.” This always makes me pause because I have learned that we always have a choice, yet sometimes it may feel like we are victims of our circumstances or situations.

The choices before us may not be easy to see, understand, or navigate, but there is always a choice because we are in control of our own lives, businesses, or careers.

My guest this week is back for a second time, and we are going to explore the notion of how to move from victim to victor.

Balancing Life’s Demands with Connie Whitman (episode 331)

23m · Published 16 Apr 07:00

“Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management. Balance means making choices and enjoying those choices.” – Betsy Jacobson. Lately, many people in their 30s have asked me how I was able to start a business, raise my two boys (who played travel hockey from the age of 5), and maintain a marriage for 32 years.

The short answer is that I just put one foot in front of the other. Truly, there was no master's plan when I was in my 30s, knowing how to create a wonderful business and life. I’ve learned to set clear boundaries with every choice, but that has come over time.

This is why I chose this quote for today. It always boils down to boundaries and choices. We are the only ones who can control our future, so setting clear boundaries that you can live with is crucial.

Effects of Self-Sabotage and Making More Sales with David Neagle (episode 329)

40m · Published 19 Mar 08:20

“Decide which direction you are going in and take action. One decision at a time, one moment at a time.”—Akiroq Brost. I chose this quote today because you have heard me end my podcast episodes with the notion that learning new information is a beautiful thing. Doing nothing with that new knowledge and not taking action is a choice you and I get to make every day.

It's not uncommon to hear of people who strongly desire to change their lives, seek knowledge, and then do nothing with the information they've learned. I know I am an action-taker. Are you an action taker to create the change you are seeking?

Today, I will discuss WHY we sabotage the change we’re seeking with my guest so that we can be aware of how it happens. Hopefully, thiswill help us keep moving forward.

Learning Music Like a Native Language with Chris Salter (episode 327)

44m · Published 05 Mar 09:20

“Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can't.”–Johnny Depp. Growing up, my older siblings took piano lessons. I wanted nothing to do with it. I wanted to go outside with my friends, run, play ball, ride my bike, jump off the swing set in our backyard, and just be free to play.

Today, there are so many benefits for children's brain development that music can tap into and help children learn quicker just by understanding that music can be learned like a native language. I want to repeat that - Music can be learned like a native language.

Make More Sales Using Video Marketing with Nina Froriep (Episode 326)

39m · Published 27 Feb 09:20

“Video marketing solidifies your online presence while building deep and meaningful relationships with your customers. It adds a personal touch to your brand while increasing your conversions!” - Lisa Lubin

A few years ago, the owner of WebTalkRadio, Mary Lou Davidson, was coaching me on becoming a better host and making my podcast interesting, fun, and engaging. Then, one day, she told me, “You need to start recording your show using video.” I couldn’t hear anything after that, as if in a time warp. In my mind, I was thinking, “Did she tell me I need to record the show using video? So people could see me! That’s crazy and not happening.” After a few minutes of her sharing the benefits of video, I buckled and embraced her recommendations. That was about three years ago. That is the best advice ever!

I have become so comfortable on video that being on Zoom was like breathing when COVID hit. I created a digital class, and yes, you guessed it, I use short videos to teach the content of our weekly group coaching calls. Basically, for most businesses, using video isn’t an option. It’s a must-do. Do not fear; I have an expert to break this down into actionable pieces so you, too, can create some binge-worthy videos.

About Nina Froriep: Nina is an award-winning producer and documentary filmmaker. She’s seen it all, from the early days on independent features to big national TV commercials, corporate mega-shows, and Emmy award-winning documentaries, including one she produced and directed called Abraham's Children.

Today, Nina is a featured LinkedIn Content Creator and Video Marketer. She is excited to enable authors, business coaches, and service-based entrepreneurs to create easy and impactful video marketing so they can attract their ideal clients and be disruptors in their field of expertise.

325. Jefferson K Rogers – Being Uncomfortable Equals Growth

38m · Published 20 Feb 08:00

Connie's motivational quotefor today is by–Jason Reynolds, “Be not afraid of discomfort. If you can’t put yourself in a situation where you are uncomfortable, then you will never grow. You will never change. You’ll never learn.”

It's crazy to think that growth happens at the edge of your comfort zone. Stretching is like a rubber band is the only way to do more, with less effort and better results. So, without change, results will never happen. To me, that is a scary thought. So, if we don’t embrace change and are uncomfortable, we stagnate and live a life by default, not a life we have chosen. I think this is one of the reasons I love hosting this show. My guests and I get to discuss ways for all of us to grow and change, hopefully with a little bit of ease and grace.

Today's Guest Jefferson K. Rogers: Jefferson is the founder and CEO of JKR Windows. In its first five years, the company has exceeded $45 million in revenue and is approaching one hundred employees. Jefferson has achieved success after overcoming a two-decade-long struggle with alcoholism and addiction, a journey that he candidly shares on his podcast, in interviews, and on Instagram. He constantly pushes himself to learn new things, living where discomfort meets growth. Jefferson is also a sought-after business advisor and speaker, a winning physique and motocross competitor, a trained pilot, and a successful real estate investor.

324. Jeffrey Klubecks – Integrity and Accountability Frameworks to Fast Track Results

40m · Published 13 Feb 09:00

Connie's motivational quotefor today is by–Brian Dive, “Accountability is a statement of personal promise, both to yourself and to the people around you, to deliver specific defined results." I am an action-taker. I don’t know how to be any other way. Sometimes I feel it is a blessing, and other times, a curse…lol!

At the end of the day, having accountability metrics in place truly holds us accountable to ourselves and those who depend on us. So, this quote hit home for me. In my travels and training at companies around the country, it is easy to see those that hold themselves accountable and those that don’t. those not accountable seem to blame everyone or circumstances outside of themselves quickly. Accountability is an inside game, so deflecting is just an excuse not to do something.

So, during today's show, we will discuss how to Retrofit yourself, your relationships, teams, and organizations by playing The Integrity Game®!

YouTube: https://youtu.be/mCfWazpoyvo

About Jeffrey Klubeck:

Jeffrey is a now un-retired Professor of Communication and author of The Integrity Game®, an Amazon #1 Best Seller. Jeffrey has worked as a business communication coach with entrepreneurs and high-performance teams in 13 countries. He founded Get A Klu, Inc., which serves small/micro businesses and solopreneurs with productivity and accountability frameworks.

As a speaker, he is fast-paced, humor-laced, and a little bit in your face ... always challenging audiences to look within!
