Esoterotica, Erotica from New Orleans

by Esoterotica

Esoterotica is a revolving cast of poets, writers, and storytellers based out of New Orleans exploring what it is to be sensual, sexual, creative, and connected. Erotica is defined in the dictionary as "literature or art designed to arouse sexual desire." We do not think this is enough. To us, erotica explores an integral part of the human experience, the pleasures of the senses. It combines the two binders of humanity, written language and sexual experience. We encourage you to enjoy this exploration with us.

Esoterotica: "Pervertibles & Paraphilia"

30m · Published 26 Nov 02:00

Welcome to Esoterotica’s "Pervertibles & Paraphilia" for November 25th, 2020.

Human sexuality and arousal is literally all over the place and heavily dependent on our psychological and social norms. The subversion of those norms call to us over and over. The word "paraphilia" came into use in 1903 and describes the "experiencing of intense sexual arousal from atypical objects, situations, fantasies, behavior, or individuals..." but no consensus has ever been reached on the difference between an “unusual sexual interest"—their way of referencing kink or fetish—and a paraphilia. One source cites as many as 549 types of paraphilia.

Sex and your relationship to it doesn’t have to live within the confines of the expected. Just remember to sanitize, have lube and scissors close by, and consent, consent, consent.

Featuring:

  • Just Shannon
  • Panzachual
  • Otter Goodfellow
  • Aimé SansSavant
  • Harvey

Esoterotica: "Myths & Lore"

57m · Published 29 Oct 02:00

Welcome to Esoterotica’s "Myths and Lore" for October 28, 2020.

For all of the measures and milestones, horrors and triumphs that humanity has faced, what does not change is our desire to talk about it. Our species has sought to understand itself through the art of storytelling since we began communicating. And many of those stories endure and echo in us to one degree or another, for thousands of years.

Often when we hear the words myth and lore, we can mistakenly think of them as interchangeable. A myth is a story or legend passed down whose roots can be factual or fictitious. The word myth is also often used to mean false. Lore is traditional knowledge passed down. It encompasses a learning and study honed through generations.

Tonight our Provocateurs will delve into both sides of the theme. From their most earnest truths to finding depth and needed meaning in the fanciful.

Featuring:

  • Panzachual
  • Poignant Procrastinator (proxied by Geoff Munsterman)
  • a duet by Lilith Red and Shadow Angelina
  • Megan Doe
  • Juliet Rose
  • Andy Reynolds
  • Mike Marina
  • Aimé SansSavant

  • Mike Marina
  • Roux B Shears
  • Shadow Angelina
  • Meredith Ann (virgin voice)
  • a duet by Shadow Angelina & Geoff Munsterman
