Ep 5 - A Courageous Heart - Tribute To Taliesin, Friend of Humankind

25m · Published 31 Jan 01:44

"Please let everyone on this train know that I love them."  These were the final words of Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche as he lay in the arms of a stranger, dying from a fatal stabbing.

Taliesin transitioned out of this life May 26th 2017 on a MAX train in Portland Oregon while defending two women from a violent white supremacist.  His life, his actions and his message lives on in the lives of everyone he knows.  Dr. Cedar Miller, a close personal friend and mentor shares some stories and insights about this man who many call a modern day hero, but who would probably just smile and say that he is simply a friend of Humankind....all kind for that matter.  I hope you enjoy this episode with Dr. Miller.

Note:  This was taken from a larger interview that I did and will release later February 2020 where Dr. Miller discusses medicine, music, the responsible use of psychedelics and social responsibility.

Ep. 4 - Finding Freedom In Hell with Dr. Viktor Frankl (Part 1)

44m · Published 28 Jan 04:29

This is the first part of a two part series where we do a deep dive into one of my favorite books Man's Search for Meaning.

Dr. Viktor Frankl was a Jewish-Austrian psychiatrist and medical doctor imprisoned in Auschwitz during the Second World War.  He was one of 7000 survivors of the 1.3 million people who were sent to Auschwitz, 1.1 million of which were categorically murdered.  In his book Man's Search for Meaning he describes how he found personal freedom amidst the horrors and despair of the Nazi death camp.  His work has helped millions of people to find liberation from their suffering and to find a deep sense of meaning in their lives which has become a guiding light for much of humankind.

Ep. 2 King Thayo (Pt 1) - Emotional Intelligence

40m · Published 10 Jan 01:31

This interview with King Thayo was a true joy.  His insights and his vulnerability are as rich as his music.  He is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, currently living here in Southern Oregon.  This interview traverses many dimensions from heartbreak and pain to deep love and an explosive creative process.  He has shared so many tracks that I had to divide the interview into two parts to allow for all the great music.  I truly hope you enjoy this episode so sit back and let Thayo weave tales of love, life, pleasure and pain into his deep web of emotional intelligence.

Ep. 1 - Tim Snider - Down the Rabbit Hole

1h 31m · Published 10 Jan 01:09

Tim Snider is a virtuosic violinist, musician and songwriter.  His dedication to his music, which started when he was 4 years old, is only paralleled by his constant seeking and his deep spiritual pursuits.  You can hear it in his music and there is a truthfulness to his lyrics and voice that is a breath of fresh air for those feeling a sense of claustrophobia in this superficial, disconnected and materialistic time in which we live.  He dives deep into his creativity and artistic processes, has gone deep down the rabbit hole so to speak and has come out with some gems to share.  This podcast is a labor of love for my friends and community so sit back, relax, and be curious....you deserve it.

You can find more information about Tim at www.timsnidermusic.com or search for Tim Snider in your favorite streaming service.
